Marco Arment hating on the new Macs....shocker. Complain about the prices staying the same, fine. But more ports and SD slot? In what realistic world was Apple going to add back things they took away? Marco Arment may want a 2015 MBP with 2018 internals but he’s being completely disingenuous if he wants people to believe Apple was ever going to do that. And it’s also nonsense to think Apple would abandon new hardware only a couple years after being introduced. A few years ago Casey Liss said the ATP crew were going to make a point of being less negative because they were getting complaints about their podcast being too negative all the time. Well that didn’t last long. Marco is constantly whining and complaining.

Very minor MBP update. More cores, higher max RAM and SSD, and “quieter” keyboard. Non-Touch-Bar options are unchanged. No update to the Escape at all. No SD slot or more ports. Same entry prices. If you hated the 2016-2017, you’ll probably hate the 2018.

So, three from the five new Macs have been released, and running 10.13 as expected... what about the other two?... they were listed as running 10.13 too, so they should come soon...

If you have a maxed out 2017 I dont think you'll see much difference unless you are after the i9 with cores and how that relates to Ram Speed. Very few individuals will need this.

No computer with integrated Intel Iris Garbage deserves to be called PRO.
Not every pro is the same. Some need CPU more than GPU (while still needing a Mac environment). I'm seriously considering selling my 2017 iMac for one of these now that the MacBook Pro can have 32 GB RAM. I need graphics capabilities but the GPU in the MacBook Pro is sufficient.

if they wanted to save power they could have stayed with DD3, its supported still by 8th gen cpus.

I wonder if 9th gen will support Low power DD4.

Which of course 9th gen will appear at the end of the year? !

Is it worth upgrading my 2017 MacBook Pro if I’ve had no issues ?
Quieter keyboard would be nice but doubt it’s worth the money I would lose selling my current one.
