They gave me a new phone as well, though my screen was clicking a little bit on one side too so that may be why.
From Apple's website (emphasis mine):

If your iPhone 6 Plus is producing blurry photos and falls into the eligible serial number range, Apple will replace your device's iSight camera, free of charge.

Your iPhone will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program and in working order.

I'm eligible so therefore they should fix their mistakes. Thanks.

yes, god for bid Apple has never ever had problems with the front facing camera.

"will get their cameras replaced from Apple at *no charge*." No one read the article did they?

I would think it's just the fault component that they would replace.... although if u want a new phone, just break it yourself :) as long as its not visual enough that its "accidental damage",

You do realize you are suggesting fraud? I'm always amazed that people seem to think it ok to defraud a vendor through fraudulent warranty claims.

So if I'm jailbroken and not on the latest iOS will they still fix it? It says I'm eligible. Just want to make sure this won't case any problems.

Probably not since you voided your warranty when you jailbroke your device. They will inspect the device as noted on apples site which is to say they will likely run their diagnostics tool which will flag if its jailbroken (and possibly even if you attempt to restore it to a factory ipsw).

Shouldn't be an issue that it's not on the latest Update other than for instance if it's an OS that never shipped on said device.

Saying you're device is "eligible" just means that it is within the range of serial numbers that might be affected. It does not mean your device is affected, or that they will repair it regardless of what has been done to the device.

Chances exist that you wil get a completely new iPhone instead of just new part

That's not what they did with the iPhone 5 lock button problem. They keep it for ONE WEEK while fixing it. I know from personal experience.

In other words, early adopters. Should I wait for Feb 2016 for the iPhone 6S Plus?

It's a matter of opinion. I got both my 5 and 6 within a week of thier launches. My five had the power button sleep / wake problem, but it took many months for it to actually show signs of trouble, almost a year actually. My 6 has some issues still to this day with orientation and keyboard lock ups. I'm considering waiting next time.

if its foggy it sounds like condensation might have started forming inside the lens. That's not normal unless you've dropped it in water. I would take it in if its still under warranty and have them check for water damage. If none is found then they should replace it free of charge. If it's not under warranty then the cost of a back camera might be about $60 but it beats a whole new device![/QUOTE]

That's because the sleep/wake button can't be repaired in-house, they ship it to a repair facility (depo repair).

The question is will they replace the camera if it's running iOS 9 public beta? I've heard hardware issues are still eligible. Is that true?
If they run diagnostics, which they most likely will, it will tell them which version of iOS the device has installed. Since iOS 9 is a beta, Apple doesn't consider them the latest version and will require you to restore the phone before the service is started.

I get that. I wouldn't worry to be honest. They are pretty pro.

Totally unrelated to the camera issue, but to explain just how "pro" Apple are:

My 6+ was not charging (unless I held the lightning cable just right), so I made a Genius Bar appt. 70 miles away (that was the soonest available, closer ones were not available until 5 days later - the phone would be dead by then). On a whim, I decided to head to my closest AS to see if they could squeeze me in. The young lady at check-in, after I explained my issue, peered at the port with an LED penlight, then took out a small metal pick and began digging. I commented that I did not know we could do that, and she replied "'You' cannot do that. 'We' can, because if 'we' break it, we fix it for free. 'You' break it, and you pay to fix it."

60 seconds later, she had all the junk out and I was on my way. She recommended compressed air a few times a week. Got back to work, and cancelled my appt. for the next day. Saved me 3 hours round-trip.

I don't think so. S models share a lot of the same design and tech as the previous model, which means they've had an entire year to work out any kinks like these while having ample time to work on the tech and design changes the S model brings. They're not designing and building an entirely new phone concept from scratch so there's more time for perfecting and less room for error.

I'm not aware of any recalls or repair programs with the 5s, for example. I'm thinking the 6s should be along the same lines.

Mine is eligible, but it's working fine.
I just called Apple - my phone is eligible too, but not having the problem. Apple's reply?? We are not doing the replacement until you have the problem. So I asked...what if I'm on vacation when it goes bad? I'm just stuck losing all my vacation pics and videos? Her reply? Yes.

Boo Apple. Known issue, but sorry unless you have the problem you are just a time bomb that we can fix but would rather blow up...meh

I'm pretty sure you know the real reason why, because it has nothing to do with Apple.
o_O Hold on, that was just a tongue-in-cheek reply to a poster who suspected that MANY millions of iPhone 6 Plus units would have to be repaired for faulty iSight cameras. It was posted at 10:25 PM last night, well before today's stock market troubles surfaced, or at least well before I became aware of them, and my comment had nothing to do with that.

Wife's phone had this issue a few months back. Took it to the Apple Store and they replaced the camera in about an hour under AppleCare. Interesting to note that it is a product failure as I figured hers was due to being dropped!

Assuming it's a "new" phone it's either refurbished (will look and feel brand new) or a brand new phone. In either case, you won't have a dead pixel out of the box and it won't be scratched.

I had this problem with my first 6+ which was replaced a couple days ago because of a display issue. The new phone is or appears to be brand new. No issues with the camera, no scratches, perfect display. My experience with several iPhones and multiple Macs has been that if your device is going to have an issue, you'll likely get it within the first few months. There are an unlucky few who experience just-out-of-warranty issues but I'd say they're in the minority.

What was your display issue? There seems to be a dark spot originating from the top right corner going inward on mine. Just curious if it's the same issue or not.

That's a pretty lame response. I doubt many people would get it done proactively anyways, so they might as well collect on the goodwill.

So what precisely is the problem? That EVERY photo is blurry, or just some of them?

I get blurry photos sometimes, but I thought it was just that I was moving or shook the camera.

The problem is the camera not focusing at all. If all your photos are blurry (unless shot at the distance that the lens is stuck at) you need the camera replaced.

You're using the Iphone camera as your vacation camera? That's the one time I'd actually use a real camera... But, hey, whatever I suppose :).

Buddy, please do yourself a huge favor and keep an eye on market news, that is if you have any interest in it. The market has been tanking nearly a week now and Apple has been apart of that as well as every other company. Just because it hits Macrumors today doesn't mean it's "today's" news.
