Looks like you can get the May 2019 update manually here if Windows update doesn't give it to you.

What's confusing is Windows update says I'm up to date. So manually getting the May Update.

What's weird is my Windows 10 on VMWare Fusion on my Mac got the May update. But my XPS 15 (2018) hasn't yet. lol.

Thank you - correcting original post now.

Like a lot of previous Windows 10 updates, Microsoft is releasing v1903 in a staggered fashion. I’m not sure if it’s totally random, or using some sort of sorting algorithm based on DeviceID or whatever, but one thing I do know is that they didn’t just open the flood gates and let everybody get it at once.

Anyway, the last of my Windows 10 VMs (I have 6 of them) got updated last night, and the updates started to roll out to them back in May. The 5 physical ones I have were all finally updated a couple weeks ago.

I wish apple would add a basic version of iMessage to the iCloud portal. It would be so nice to have iMessage when working on a windows machine or even just a shared computer that isn’t signed in to iCloud.

I seem to remember when iMessage was announced Apple said there’s be a way to open it up to third parties, let alone just other platforms with apps from Apple, but nothing ever came of it :/

Weird people who buy PC and use iPhone and iPad and iCloud.

The magic of an ecosystem is that everything works seamlessly. That PC just ruins it.

I’m a bootcamp user to have the best of both worlds, for my work I need MS Office for full integration with clients, MS Office for Mac is an abomination that is neither mac or pc centred, it’s the reason I installed boot camp, iCloud Drive is unusable without selective syncing

Starcraft II is a 9 year old game.

Just like for World of Warcraft they have changed the graphics engine since the game was released. I remember when Starcraft 2 got some physics engine changes (some years after release I think) that made it more demanding. Besides, with graphics settings turned up and if there's an immense amount of action (many units) encountering each other the game can still be really taxing despite its age.

Anyway, on my main computer Starcraft 2 doesn't run well under Metal (beta). As soon as a "new" sound is played (i.e. the first time for that game) I get a half a second hitch. Looking forward to the game getting out of beta for Metal, if that ever happens...

What's weird about that? I own a Pixel and a MacBook Pro. If I decide to ever start using iCloud Drive (and pay for storage), I'd expect it to run well on any platform. Just like Dropbox/Google Drive runs well, no matter which one you're on.

That May 2019 update took awhile. Windows Explorer taskbar icon is different!

Oh well, I'll be waiting for selective sync either way. Hopefully this is signs of more to come.

Now to delete my 26GB windows.old folder.

While I appreciate the effort to make iCloud available on Windows, I would really like to see iCloud integration on Android. Then I could keep my contacts, calendars, notes, files, etc. on iCloud instead of having to resort to other alternatives (Google, Microsoft) as my main private computers are macOS based and I don't want to share my contacts and calendar with either Microsoft or Google as I don't want them to scan this data.

They surely could stem the effort to be really cross platform. Heck, there is good Google and Outlook integration in macOS and iOS. Why not the other way round?

According to the Windows blog it now has selective sync

It supposedly has the On Demand service, which I don't see how to manually set like OneDrive. However, it definitely does not have selective sync. I just installed it to be double sure.

well judging by how many negative comments there are on this forum - most users also use windows :)

Of course, they do, so it makes sense they would want iCloud on Windows. Put your Apple Kool-Aid down, its too much for you.

why, apple products are so bad and overpriced, there are so many better options for them.
yes, you're right, how dare i like apple. shame on me. especially on macrumors...

You can like whatever you want, still, doesn't change the fact that people who own iPhones or iPads use Windows in way more numbers than macOS. So it makes sense people will welcome this app.

i have absolutely no objection to people welcoming this app, my post was was about windows' terrible visual design and the way apples branding looks within it.

btw is there any known demographic info on iphone/ipad users desktop preferences?

Because Apple's iCloud for Windows does not include the "Subscribe" feature. It's the same trick Netflix does to its iOS/tvOS application.

Why is it a trick? An iOS user is going to have their iOS device BEFORE they set up iCloud for Windows. Considering, you know, you sign up for/log in to your iCloud account when you first set up your device.

Nobody sets up an iCloud account on Windows on the off chance they might get an iOS device later. Or because they decided they wanted to use iCloud even though they don't own any Apple devices.

yes, except mercedes/apple are considered prestigious, which cannot be said about pc's/toyotas)

most toyota owners secretly wish they were driving mercedeses, perhaps same goes for pc users? ;)

Have you ever been to Germany? They use Mercedes for taxis so they're equivalent to Crown Victorias in the US.

yes, many times. i'm not entirely clear on the point you're trying to make though - they also use them the same way all other countries do. and the fact that they have nicer taxis than the u.s. seems like a nice bonus, nothing more.
