Downloaded from MAS and CCC'd my drive for a fresh install in under 1.5hrs.

Took 20 minutes to install. Now working perfectly.

Macbook Pro seems... snappier?!?? :D

Excellent release.

I was on the phone with Apple and got the .... we are working through it.... bla bla bla......72 hours response.

I asked if I could purchase it now for $20 and get reimbursed and they said that that solution was brought up and they will not be reimbursing people.

I'm sorry, as I have said it's the basic incompetence of the process that annoys me. The code claim process is unnecessary. Apple ID plus serial number should be enough. Also silly mistakes in the form itself - not giving the MacBook Air as a choice, a US specific address format. These are problems which should have been spotted earlier.

Problem is the nut cases that are either dishonest or can't wait, so the info needs to be verified. Probably not as simple as just generating a number.

One guy posted he copied 3 serial numbers from Apple store machines to see if it works. How do you bypass idiots like that?

That was on a day that ML wasn't even officially released yet and Apple slipped up posting it too early.

Whatever the process is it is not unusual that something that was developed in theory doesn't worked when the real thing goes life.

In the meantime somebody could probably make a lot of money with T-Shirts:

I survived not getting Mountain Lion on the first day!

This is why when the Up to Date site opened prematurely two days ago was when Apple should have opened it for actual use. Now the people who purchased Mac's after June 11, who are entitled to a free copy, have to wait who knows how long for a code. Had it been done two days ago we'd have it on time for release. It makes the impatient, such as myself, more impatient. It sucks..

Great job with OS X Mountain Lion Apple! Very smooth, fast, and modern! :apple::D
Irony I assume.

Apple have details of purchases linked to Apple ID's.
No excuse for the form.

Apple confirmed to me that they are resending me a new code within the next day or two as part of the upgrade program. For anyone who has had an issue with the code, please contact apple support to make sure they know you are affected.

Just d/l and installed ML in about a little over an hour.

Is the scrolling on the mouse upside down now?
If I start on the top of the mouse and swipe down, it takes me up to the top of screen.

And no, my mouse is not upside down on the desk.

Overall it seems pretty good but for some reason my early 2009 15" MBP has lost it's ability to play sound and the controls are grayed out. It might be something I did but I can't figure it out.

Been like that since Lion, I believe. I just bought a MPBR with Lion, and although it took a day or two to get used to it, I quite like the scrolling now.

Simple fix, Sys pref, mouse, uncheck natural scrolling. Bam back to normal:D

AAAAArrrrrrGGGGGHHHHH

I have officially have been downloading since 9:10 am eastern. It is now 4:55pm, I will have to stop in a little bit and resume when I get home.

May Jobs shine on me and let me download faster when I reconnect.

Downloaded ML in about 15 minutes.....install showed 34 minutes. 11 minutes left on the install!
