Good luck to you rev one buyers! I will wait for rev two, maybe. Not sure yet, but good luck :)

Not sure what luck has to do with it. I'll get it and if I don't like it I'll just go back to the 8 I bought a couple weeks ago. Good luck waiting a few years when you're three versions behind.

I am wondering what Apple will do with the next iPhone now. I wonder if the 9 will be in the old form factor. How will they make this better? Face ID 2? Bigger? Right now you get the same screen real estate as the 8 plus. Why didn’t they let anyone play a video?
Intrigued.

Desperation.

Phone isn't selling as expected.

People are nervous at HQ.

Is that why Apple's pre-order inventory reportedly sold out in FIFTEEN MINUTES when pre-orders opened?

Is that why T-Mobile's online orders were so slammed that I needed to make multiple attempts (yes, I got one that way to ship this Friday, and another via phone rep)?

Apple stopped releasing launch weekend sales numbers after the iPhone 6. No reason to think they would do it for the X. You most likely will not see any hard numbers until Q4 results are announced next year.

They released launch order numbers for both the 6 and the 6s (10 million and 13 million respectively during the first three days). It was with the 7 last year Apple refused to say what the opening weekend numbers were.

If preorders are "off the chart" I would expect Apple to say so either today or on the earnings call Thursday when they discuss future guidance.

I'm sure there were a lot more "YouTubers" at the event than just the ones currently listed here. Some of the more well known YouTube celebrities probably just have not uploaded their videos yet.

As far as the phone not selling well, regardless of how many were available for Pre-Order for the 3rd, I believe all of the Pre-Orders for release day have been sold. Whether they are selling well or not, as long as I'm happy and enjoy the phone and they continue supporting it, Apple's sales numbers don't reflect my personal enjoyment of it.

Even though the phone does have many similarities to older models, there are a lot of firsts with this phone, including launching a minor upgraded phone a month prior as well as the larger price tag.

Idk why everyone thinks this has to do with sales.

Because everything any company does has to do with sales. Doesn't matter if it's this or pasting its name on a stadium or handing out samples at a subway station. The reason companies exist is to sell their product or service.

I guess Apple stock is at near record highs because the company is desperate and the 8 and X are flops? Amazing how people can take any event and flip it to fit the narrative they wish to be true. I swear some here will go into depression if iPhone sales for the holiday quarter are better than expected.

In a situation like this, you know these reviewers are being compensated for their review, whether that's in $ or in viewer/subscriber ads. I would consider these fully biased reviews from Apple marketing. It will be interesting to see what happens Friday when real people get in their hands. FaceID still doesn't have me sold (sunglasses), and the extra step of swiping up doesn't look fluid. I bought two with the intent of selling one, but I'm going to let some real world comments come in before I open the one for me. If it fails, I'll sell it too, and if I can't get at least my cost back, I'll just send them back to Apple unopened.

Edit: spelling error.

Not surprising no one properly critiques it as they probably want to hold on to the privileges that have let them receive an early iPhone X from Apple in the first place. I’m looking forward to reviews commenting on how it actually is to use in everyday life

"Animoj what I am more excited about to be true", that was just funny, everything the iPhone X has, he is excited about making animated emojis.

I was more impressed and excited about the iPhone X by the video the (now fired Apple engineer's) daughter shot of the iPhone X then these random Youtuber's. These videos are too staged, reminds me of the horrible Chevy ads on TV right now where they state "these are not actors, these are real people..." Yeah, okay:)

You can bet your bottom dollar Apple will release a Plus model next year that is near the size of the Galaxy S8+ (6.2") or the Galaxy Note 8 (6.3"). Improved FaceID, better camera, faster chipset, better battery life, thinner, etc.

Would Apple introduce a successor to the 8 using the Full Active LCD technology from Japan Display? It could have a form factor very similar to the iPhone X with minimal bezels. Possibly, but if it was $200 cheaper than the iPhone X it would likely cannibalize sales too much unless they crippled features as well. If the iPhone X doesn't sell like hotcakes they might not have a choice. Apple needs something competitive in the $700 - $800 price range. I don't see another warmed over version of the iPhone 6 being viable.

Silver looks SO much better. Black can be mistaken for an iPhone 7 at some lighting conditions.

Every single one of those videos depicts the Silver iPhone X, except for one that shows Space Grey.
