My bad, I didn't followup that before. Looks like he was fired because the video shows on his phone some codenames of upcoming products. I guess was a really bad move on his part.
So I just heard on the news, Apple did indeed double down on security and fired the engineer who's daughter posted virtually NOTHING new about the iPhone X. Ruined Dad's life for fricking nothing, love you Apple.
Yeah he just allowed a video to be posted with private calendar invites, secret product names, employee only QR codes and allowed video to be shot in an employee only area that expressly forbids video to be shot. But you know its basically the same. /s
Father ruined himself by not respecting his NDA and allowing his daughter to use, film, and post a video she was not supposed to do.
That is really the only thing I like about this. That I haven’t seen the names much before.
That said, I could only really watch one of the videos. Honestly found the video leaked by the daughter of the Apple Employee to be more entertaining and realistic to excitement of the new device.
Honestly, I think Apple missed the boat, by not allowing friends and family of Apple Employees to release videos like that.

I don’t get the notch hate fest. There isn’t a notch, there are two eyebrows of extra display for tiny icons that are very useful.
I’m gunna get roasted for this, but after watching some of the vids the phone looks... a bit boring.
I don’t know what I’m expecting of it to be honest! I think that may only be showing up because of the camera the video was taken with. Kind of like if you take a video of a remote control while pressing the buttons on a camera without an IR filter.

Too bad they don't have a set of medieval stocks installed in the employee commons area that they could have put him in for the day to really make real life example of him for all to heed. Clearly he screwed up letting his over indulged daughter blog on him. I have a daughter with 320k subs and we know enough to not play that game at home so ya, clearly this guy was out of touch, like many Apple folks come to think of it. Hopefully the reality distortion field is contained by the circular campus and not amplified! I wish him only luck in his future endeavors and that his daughter learned that virtual and physical worlds really do collide, actions always matter.

So what if he’s three years behind? First gen (and yes, this is a first gen - I.e. new design) iPhones always have some sort of issue/s. He’s smart to wait for later iterations.
Yes but my point was more or less that a shift in marketing strategy doesn't necessarily have to correlate with sales at all.
If the video had been leaked 2 or 3 months ago, I'd understand it. However in this current context the leak was bearly harmful. There was no need to fire him. Nothing secret was revealed. Apple is really cold and heartless.
Yes, because she was stupid and post before the media was allow to. AND her dad works for Apple and should have know it better than anyone else. Don't blame Apple when people do stupid stuff.
