Congratulations for having a LGBT pride parade and an entire month (!!) to celebrate for it. Meanwhile Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders and so many others dont feel the need for a parade to feel proud or a month dedicated to them.... i guess they dont seek attention for doing what they do and being who they are...
I dont have anything woth LGbT community, anybody can be whatever they feel they want to be. I am fine with that. But everytime there is a “pride” parade where people somehow feel the need to go out on the streets, some of them half naked, to make a “statement”, I just cant help but cringe...

You don't have to do it, you know.
Because everyone can decide on their own when they feel comfortable coming out. It's not your decision to make as to when someone "should" come out. Even if it's Tim Cook or some other extremely high-profile individual.
Try using the google machine and search for "gay people from history".
pride month has become this corporate stance thats shoved down your throat.
I'm all for you love who you love, however you want, whoever you want, whatever you want. It's none of my business. I just don't really like the stance the corporations have taken where I feel it's being forced upon me and others. Let people make up their own minds about it, don't shove it down peoples throats. This corporate reaction has already begun to backfire, as the younger generation is becoming ever increasingly biased towards LGBT people.

I disagree. It's an efficiency + infrastructure thing. There's a reason the line in the women's restroom is always longer than the men's.
Sitting and the associated privacy barriers take up more space. A zip down and back up is faster than halfway undressing.
Every time these articles come out, it reminds me how toxic the community on this site is.

Why is it not natural? What’s your definition of natural? Whether it occurs in nature? Because, guess what, plenty of animals have gay sex. The species closest to humans, sharing 98,7% of our DNA, the bonobo, is the perfect example: they do it with each other all the time. And not to procreate, just for fun. Seems very natural to me.
But wait, you’re grounded in religion, not facts and science, so you probably reject the Theory of Evolution as well.
Since when were they discriminated against? Try after the Vietnam war when they were spat on and treated derisively by the left on their return from a war zone. Don't they teach all history in schools now or just the revisionist history of the left?
It's not about wanting a "medal". It's about making sure you're accepting of it and making sure it's okay with you to continue a friendship for instance. That's it. That's the whole point of someone telling you they're gay.
I’m of the opinion that I can challenge views I don’t agree with too. Just because someone doesn’t agree with people being gay does not mean I can’t challenge that point of view. I think the only way homosexuality will not continue to be socially unacceptable in future generations is to give it exposure and normalise it for those who are threatened by it. We’ve come a very long way since the 1980’s where TV portrayed homosexuals as weird and likely to be HIV positive.
If there are gay people who are happy for pockets of society to treat them as second class citizens then that’s fine. I think it benefits everybody if we are a bit more educated though and I feel that should be promoted. Just my view.
I don’t know why ppl giving examples of creatures that can’t think as you and me do; don’t know what’s wrong (bad) or right (good). Lions, chimpanzees are not human who can think, develop an idea.
And of course I don’t believe in theory of evolution....

People knew, just not the public (except for when Gawker outed him). Probably because it’s a part of his life that he didn’t feel like sharing with the world. That’s fair.
Please show some evidence where returning U.S. soldiers were spat on and I don't mean heresay but evidence.

Look, and this applies to many of the previous replies, being LGBT is not being forced upon you.
You don’t have to conform for fear of being fired/disowned by your parents/beaten/killed.
You have probably never felt shame for loving who you love, had to hide it from family, changed the subject whenever friends or colleagues asked if you were dating.
You probably never contemplated suicide because no matter how much you try to be attracted to the “correct” gender and try to “pray the gay away” you couldn’t change.
Your marriage is probably recognised and respected in most countries on earth - even ones with a different majority religion.
So excuse us for remembering the riots 50 years ago that marked the beginning of the end of institutionalised homophobia and police harassment.
You probably have no idea how many Hollywood movies of queer historical figures have been “straightwashed” to prevent their queer lives being “shoved down your throat”. You’ll probably never know the feeling of seeing an identifiable love story for a lead character in a TV show for the first time.
I understand equality to the privileged must feel like discrimination but just be thankful you’ve never needed a “straight pride”.
I do not like when corporations use Pride month as a marketing tool to sell branded merchandise but if they are willing to stand up and say that they support the rights of LGBT employees to live their true selves then I’m all for it.
