Kuo, Tim Cook's boss is rocking it! He finally decide to add dual sims slots. Good for Kuo. Cook must be livid with all the new models and the dual sims additionals, since he is basically an operations man at heart! Kuo, you are the best covert Apple CEO! Make sure Cook does not leak any future new Apple products, Kuo!

I think the 5.8" is the sweet spot. The thing has to fit in my pocket and my budget.

The 7+/ 8+ have been the sweet spot in sales since the first 30 day post availability period of X sales. ;)

I'm just not sure I understand the plan here - a lot of people I know originally bought iPhone's for the smaller body size because they don't want to carry around a huge phone, and they want to be able to easily type with one hand.

People that wanted a huge phone already were catered to by the Plus, and in 2018 they can get the "X Plus" if they so choose. But everyone coming from an SE/6/6s/7/8 now has to either bite the bullet and pay $1k (essentially $300 more than before) for the X size to keep a close enough body size, or deal with a massive phone. This just seems like a really dumb move that will push people over the edge to other platforms that are now offering "normal" phone sizes.

Where dat 4" phone tho?
It being built in India but the India government has a hang up with selling it out of the country. It sort of a big joke in India, since that was the main reason for building the assembly plant there. LOL!

The trouble is Apple is only one other then Sony to offer sub 5" models!

I just don't see Apple bringing out a dual SIM iPhone.

I would actually think they were more likely to bring out an eSIM-only iPhone rather than an iPhone with 1 extra SIM slot than currently available. It seems more or a Samsung thing to do bringing out dual physical SIM that not many people would ever need (note that i said 'not many').

Apple tend to remove things that can be removed if possible, rather than adding in extra things 'not many' people would use.

Maybe this 2nd slot is actually for something else?.... Removable storage for cheapest iPhone? It would cut manufacturing costs!

The U.S. carriers insist on SIM card to lock you into their carrier network! Maybe Apple could do eSiM in other parts of the world however but not in the U.S.

Keep fragmenting the ecosystem!, even now most apps have not been updated to support the X, imagine with sooo many new screen sizes; also think the mess and poor quality in which iOS is now, now imagine having to support so many new iphone versions?.
You're not a software developer, are you? My code needs to run on 3.5" to the largest iPhone, plus iPads in three sizes, two screen orientations, and three ways of splitting the screen. That's not done by writing new code for every resolution, it's done by writing code that checks how big the screen is and adapting itself to the size.

You know how much effort it is for me to make my app run nicely on a 5.8", 5.9", 6.0", 6.1" and 6.5" iPhone, with different width/height ratio? I'll tell you: ZERO.

This DSDS is all BS.
It's simply an old ad man's trick of creating a non-existant problem and selling the solution.

I'm going to call BS on this rumor unless the LCD devices are absolutely crippled. Even if they just kept the internals of the iPhone 8 Plus and slapped on a full-screen display there is no way Apple would cut the price from $799 to $550, particularly since the 8 and 8 Plus are apparently selling well at the current price points. Even the $650 price point would be pretty unbelievable. The only way they offer something like that for $550 is if it has the A10 chipset from the iPhone 7 Plus modified to use FaceID or possibly TouchID on the back.

The fact that the 6.1” iPhone is going to be the “economy” iPhone really annoys me. That’s the perfect size. Gives you a larger screen, one handed usability (depending on how large your hands are), and fits in your pocket. That’s the size iPhone I want, but it’s going to have cheaper parts and less features...

I’m really sick of Apple tying features to a size.

6.1" iPhone LCD model w/ 2160 x 1080p display, 3gb RAM, dual cameras, A12 processor, FaceID, iPhone X build quality and ergonomics, quick charge, wireless charging, 3D Touch all for $550? I would go for that.

Doesn't make sense to me... If they stop selling iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and SE (cause of same A9 chip) after September, they will have:

- iPhone 7
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- new iPhone 5,8"
- new iPhone 6,1"
- new iPhone 6,1" dual sim
- new iPhone 6,5"

9 models and each with 2 storage options + still possibility of new SE... (I know there are chances, they will stop selling X)

I mean, even now with 7 models it is VERY confusing for non tech person, which one to choose... It's good to have options, but too many options makes shopping difficult. Remember the time, when Apple introduced iPhone 4, 4S etc? You went to Apple page and there where 3 models to choose e.g. iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4s. Back then, every next generation had a lot of changes. Now compare 7 to 8...

It's impossible they will put such model, but would be much clearer to have max 5 different models from 4"-6,5".

There is way too much cannibalization in that lineup. I suspect it would more likely look like this:

- iPhone SE
- iPhone 7 (maybe or maybe not as a $400 - $450 device)
- iPhone 8
- new iPhone 6.1"
- new iPhone 6.1" dual sim
- new iPhone X
- new iPhone X Plus

Hopefully if these rumors are true Apple will also clean up it's line up and dispense with the practice of making previous year's models the "budget" option. Especially with falling cellphone sales there is no need for a half-dozen iPhone models. Consumers don't want to think that much about which model to buy.

I don't love the notch, but I would really like a phone with a smaller form factor and more screen real estate. Plus this product line is simple and makes sense. I'M IN!

This will be one of the worst iPhone years. It's stupid that the cheapest phone(s) (not counting a possible updated SE of course) will be oversized phablets and the smallest phone is still grossly overpriced. The lineup just doesn't make any sense.

3 phones. Small, medium and large. With same features, size permitting.
Updated every 2 years.

Far too simple - and not lucrative enough - for Apple...

Dual sim is very important. I know an executive who runs his business off an iPad, used an Apple Watch and had an iPhone (X, I think) who switched to Android this year for dual sim. That meant he took of his Apple Watch as well. Dual sim is freaking low hanging fruit that Apple just hasn't bothered to grab yet. But it should.

I'm not sure I'd call it complete BS yet. Internally Apple may be changing direction and going back after market share versus margins. It's been fairly evident in recent months the stock is more susceptible to sales figures than margins. IMO, the current strategy of trading decreasing sales for increased margins will not hold up any longer. Only the "Apple at all costs", or those with large disposable income will be continuing with the $1,000+ devices. There is no valid argument that the high price of the X did not hinder its sales numbers. This who do not pay cash for their phones are paying more attention to that "monthly iPhone payment" be it through their carrier, or Apple Upgrade. The 6.1" LCD has to be at a very attractive price point. What that is at this point is a rumor. IMO, it will sell like wildfire despite specs if priced right.:apple:
