Wow, I simply cannot believe that they are offering only glossy screens. I mean, these units are work horses. Many people simply cannot look all day, in various environments at a glossy screen.

this is a pretty bad call if you ask me.
 
i am no more than a macbook user - i like the screen size and the price point - but i need a firewire port.

now i would have to spend $2000 for a mac laptop with firewire.

looks like i'm going pc when i need to upgrade. :(
 
Looks like a road trip to Atlanta this weekend with my Federal Employee CAC card for a discount. woot!

:D Been waiting to replace my 12 iBook. Now is the time.

You may well be able to recycle your **** but i would question what you are eating.

The plastic that is used to manufacture the cases of computers can not be recycled without expending a huge amount of energy. Separation of plastic types is a complex process.

To recycle the aluminium it is simply a case of heating it up a little and it melts....that is why the manufacturing process from a solid block is so great - all the discard is simply recollected and reworked.

I checked the Apple Store and did not see this config. Can you provide a link? Also, can I get the educational discount on top of the $500 rebate?

I'm just curious as to why Acer can put a bluray drive into their 600$ laptops and don't seem to have problems with licensing or fees but Apple can't put bluray drives in their 2500$ laptops.....

come on fanboy! wake up! apple promised aggressive pricing. Where is aggressing pricing if it cost the same? OK, to be fair, I can say that they added a few features, but do you need them?
I make prognosis that old model macbooks/pro will go up in price than go down.
 
Thank god for my education discount otherwise it would have been closer to $3000 for me :( $2735 or some odd all up. Good morning guys I'm going to go back to bed for 2 hours and get some sleep.

(this really sucks Apple, can not believe it)

I'll bet this was a decision by SJ and company to up sell all MacBook buyers who want to do any audio video to MacBook Pros

(We'll get another 700 plus bucks out of them)

If no FW on the MB, no MacBook for me, and I am not sure I can recommend a MB to anybody now who is going to do audio video.
 
What the hell is Apple thinking?

In the US the drop the base macbook by $100 ie. 1099 to 999, yet now the uk applestore is up i see the base model is £719, £20 MORE expensive than it was this morning..... WTF
