Worked for me yesterday with my Amex at Redmond, WA HD. They had the same new terminals as Target & Fred Meyer, neither of which had NFC enabled yet.

Same for me in Portland, OR.
what home depot the one on 82nd does not show the right terminal or am I missing something?
I had it work today at Home Depot in Waltham, MA. It worked both at the self checkout and at a staffed checkout. The cashier had no clue what I was doing but it went through automatically. There was no NFC symbol on the POS terminal but after choosing pay by credit, it shows up on the screen. I used an Amex.
I got an email from BoA that they support Apple Pay. what is wrong with Master card (Bank of America)?
Home Depot isn't an official supporter of Apple Pay. It supports Apple Pay only unofficially so it isn't surprising that it works inconsistently among the various issuers.
does it matter if HD has NFC? For retailer with NFC, it is the same as google pay, NFC card or Apple Pay.
The same happened to me at Jersey Mike's sub, only Amex worked.
I'm not sure why it isn't working with certain issuers such as BofA MC but it can't be just any NFC. It has to support tokenization, meaning it may not work on older NFC-enabled terminals that do not support tokenization. In this case, it's possible that BofA MC isn't set up to receive tokenization properly from retailers not on Apple's official list. Just a guess.
Retailer NFC is like a highway. it does not care what cars or trucks are going through. what matter is the bank (BoA) can take car or truck (reading the tokens)
So something must be blocking the ability to read tokens, as BofA MC seems to work at official Apple Pay retailers but not unofficial ones like Home Depot and Jersey Mike's Sub.
again, officail retail or unoffical ones do not matter. what matter is 1) the Bank supports apple pay. 2) retail has NFC
as mentioned earlier, apple pay worked at CVS and RiteAid previsouly who were not on apple support list.

if HD blocks the apple pay, it would not work for any CC using apple pay, including Amex.
For those where the MC isn't working, is your store listed in the MC Nearby app for contactless?
Mine is, which surprised me. I haven't had a chance to run and buy the switch I need, maybe I will do that today and try it. HD was my first hacked card, at the tail end of the window....
