Apple Pay at Home Depot...

MasterCard/visa or AMEX?
ETA: and is your store listed in the MC nearby app as accepting contactless payments?
Did not work for me at Home Depot with my Visa.

Prompts on my screen seemed to indicate that it went through, but some message appeared on the cashier terminal indicating that another form of payment was required (I didn't read the message).
My transaction history on the phone has a record for the attempt - it shows the town name and date listed, but the amount is listed as "--"
Swiped the same card on the terminal and the transaction went through.

Is it a debit or credit? I've found that if I enter my PIN, it would dexline but if I run it as credit it works- at Home Depot.
Just used my CapitalOne Visa with ApplePay at Home Depot no problem.
Seems to be an issue with MasterCard and some merchants. I have the same issue at a vending machine at work.

People are reporting the same thing with MasterCard but not with Amex or Visa. Try using Amex or Visa next time.
exact same experience for me--got "card declined" message through Apple Pay, then swiped the same physical card and it went through.
Is it known that Mastercard is the culprit? I've successfully used Apple Pay with this Mastercard at other merchants.
Home Depot supports Apple Pay only unofficially. MasterCard should work at official Apple Pay retailers.
If you mean "do we know it's MasterCard's fault" then no, I don't believe anyone here knows that. It could easily be some problem in Home Depots POS systems.
Either way it seems that the combination results in a declined sale. Using either Visa or Amex seems to work fine at HD, and swiping the very same MasterCard also works fine at HD.

I used Apple Pay with success in an Alvin, Texas, Home Depot yesterday. My primary card is a Mastercard. I didn't use the primary, but an AMEX that is in my wallet and the terminal let me choose the AMEX then scan my print and it all went through without a hitch.
Like others, no luck with a MC at the HD in Katy, TX. The manager claimed that his CapOne Card (didn't ask network) didn't work until he downloaded the CapOne Wallet app. That sounded nonsensical, but who knows.
The HD does appear on the MC app, and I'll try my Amex or visa next time.

My AMEX works fine at the HD in Alvin Texas, buy still no luck with my MC there. We're all experiencing problems with MC and Apple Pay at Home Depot stores I think. It's in their setup somehow.
