I'm finding that in quite a few local places that have the updated readers, even if they don't support Pay officially, it still works on the watch.
Example. I successfully used the watch to pay for 30 tins of cat food, a bottle of wine and dishwasher cleaner in Aldi today.
The cool factor was awesome when I just flicked my wrist at the reader and paid for it. I could actually hear people saying "Did he just use a watch to buy his messages?".
So it's not just Lidl that accepts Pay

Pay worked right up to the taptic notification then failed. Had to use chip and pin. Saying that, the guy in front had his card rejected too - might have been their scanners.
