Just curious. How many of the people who are having trouble with OTA updates are those who paid to have their UDID reflect developer status when they really aren't?

Any of you with the trouble legit developers with fully paid developer accounts?

I'm not trying to bash, I'm really just curious.

Better question to ask is of those of you having problems installing beta 7 how many of you actually restored like you were supposed to when the first OTA beta said so in the notes?
Maybe now after countless people have been saying "I didn't restore and the OTA worked just fine.. well maybe now your paying for not restoring fresh.

I have been following the patch notes to the T and have yet to have any problems.
Though I did not pay to have my UDID put into an account, I have my own developer account.

I know in beta 6, if you tried to stream a podcast, it would not give you the quicktime player navigation. It would treat it as a song preview. You would be able to stream the whole show, but you would have to stay in the iTunes Store app with the screen on and you were not able to scrub or pause. It's fixed in beta 7 though.

wifi sync was not working for me immediately, but it seems to be working now.

Anyone know if you have iTunes and your iDevice set up to automatically download music purchased on another device works for podcast subscriptions as well? That doesn't seem to be working for me, but I haven't given it fair test yet.

...but it seems that more and more of these issues aren't fixed before the "gold master".

The "just works" tag line is becoming a joke. Lion is a mess for some people.... Any reason to expect IOS5 to be any better?

FWIW, i have no problems with Lion.

- clean install = no problems on my end

According to ih8sn0w the expiration date for this beta is Oct. 20... nearly 30 days after beta 6 expires. I'd say this is probably the last planned beta before GM, given the huge jump in the expiration date.

Gives additional credence to the mid-October date for iPhone 5 et al.

I think with having to resync your music, they will probably have another beta before the GM. That's a pretty big bug if you ask me.

OMG... the GM is still not coming....so iPhone 5 will not appear before the end of September....:(

That wasn't a beta 6 problem, that was happening in iOS 4 as well. It was recently fixed.

Ahhh. Maybe an iTunes in the cloud transition problem

I'm still having the issue with activating Notification Center. Swiping down to activate it isn't working like it should be and from beta 5, to beta 6 that feature was broken and carried over to beta 7.

A clean install of beta 6 didn't help either, the feature was still broken for me.

So, "upgrade" doesn't "just work"?

I thought that Apple fans claimed that "reformat - reinstall" was a Windows thing....

My first install was an upgrade from Snow Leopard, worked absolutely fine. I have iOS5 from B1 to B7 on my iPad 2 and White iPhone 4, and they've both been perfect too. I bought a Samsung SSD and did a clean install, worked perfectly as well. I am a registered developer, so maybe it's just people that bought UDID slots, dunno.

Wow, it just seems you are determined to think that apple doesn't just work for YOU. If thats the case then why do you waste your money and time with Apple products? I recommend changing to another brand.

Voice Control - when I press and hold Home button, I get a Voice Control screen that sorta works. Is this the rumored iAssistant or has it been there before?

Voice Control has been there since iPhone OS 3.0 in 2009...

After updating to beta 7 from beta 6 (OTA Update) my cellular network doesnt work anymore. Well, actually it not that easy... The Menu where you enter the apn, username and password is gone and nowhere to be found.

Looks like the apn settings are gone and I cant enter them again because of the missing Settings tab! :(

My phone is german, so Ill try to translate the menu buttons below:

"In Settings" -> "Network Settings" i can activate 3G and mobile internet (cellular Data?), but there is no mobile internet settings (cellular data settings?) showing up after that. nothing.

anyone having the same issue?

It looks like they changed some of the current smilies. The ! and ? used to be red and are now grey, and it looks like a couple of the hearts changed, as well as the stars.

Without being a dev I can't tell you if there are bugs still left to be fixed out, but from what i can tell, iOS5 is pretty polished at this point. I could be wrong though

I beg to differ... I updated and immediately couldn't play music. When I hit a song, it tries to play and fails. I hit shuffle.. Fail. I see a real quick glimpse of it selecting the song but then it bounces back to the song menu without playing anything. If I hit Shuffle it will just keep cycling through songs indefinitely or, I would guess, until it tries every song and fails. I'm going to try and updated it again but... My point.. Plenty of bugs still in there.
