Apple clearly felt differently as they have time again despite all the complaints people regardless of the company they back end up embracing the change regardless of weather or not its needed. Get over it or vote with your wallet and quit crying.

TBQH Every iPhone release has some glitches and issues. This has never not been there case. You're just rewriting history.
From launch, this iPhone 7 model has been subject to a number of faults, hardware side, software side, customer fulfilment side. I'm not rewriting history. Just stating the facts.

Only the most rabid Apple Pom-Pom waving cheerleaders would think dongles, docks, or adapters is anything other than a complete fail.

And watch hundreds or thousands of dollars invested in ITunes content vanish.

Forgot to remind you that streaming over speakers or wireless headphones should be added to list of the many easy options that the 200 million people who Will buy the iPhone 7 will use as they chant: 2, 4, 6,8 who do we appreciate? Apple!

You seem to think this phone has had more issues than the previous releases. Nope not so, it's part of the fabric.

Now I will state I'm happy with my 6 (not 6s) and will wait for a few more "innovations" before I ugrade. Maybe 7s or 8? I kind of like the rumors about full screens and doing away with the physical, home button.

Boy will those changes cause problems. I hope you post the same things next year or the one after.

We have to lighten up a bit and enjoy our products, isn't that why we spent so much on them and made Apple so wealthy!

Developer dude

So you can go through the huge list of c or c++ code that makes up the kernel of iOS and find the bug which is effecting the hardware of the lightning port? Man your ego is really big.

Maybe you should be working on the Hackintosh kernels for the Intel based boards so we can avoid buying the Apple hardware completely.

Let me ask one simple question, can you explain to us how Apple decided to do graphics and animation in iOS, you know that layering thing or maybe even a bit lower level where we get into raw calls to the processor?

Ego.

Yup, given access to the source code I can fix the bug - I work on that type of software every day (mainly audio DSP now). My vast expertise includes a very particular set of skills... I've been doing low level complex C/C++ development work for 30 years now - started my career working on fault tolerant distributed real time Unix systems (Think NASA level, but revenue generating - not burning $$). Recently I've developed high performance OS X kext drivers for custom devices, and also have developed iOS apps for bluetooth connected devices (which also included significant contributions to firmware in both the device and bluetooth module).

In addition to my day job, I'm setting an Android OS development environment - everyone needs a hobby...

No sorry, the fact that there is a premium on Apple products means they shouldn't have issues right out of the box. I think you're down playing this in a big way. Apple quality has been on the decline for sometime. I don't want my phone constantly patched, get it right in the first instance. The next iPhone will be all new. iPhone 7 is the end of the line for the current design. It is a series 3 version of iPhone 6 after all.

Remember how the 3.5mm jack used to "just work"?
Really? I've had issues with a myriad of devices in the past, such as sound suddenly only being on one side (had to remove and reinsert jack a couple of times), audio not coming through speakers when headphone jack removed, or vice versa, or even sound still coming through the speakers whilst also coming through the headphones.

Don't act like the headphone jack is an infallible technology, it isn't.

Well, 3 right turns is essentially a left ;).

where I live you would not end up where you wanted to be: 1 left does not always equal 3 rigths.it only does with a block.

But do you need 3 rights? If you are standing for a traffic light on the corner between block A (on your left) and block B (on your right) and if you now turn left you are on the side of block A and block C. But If you turn right 3 times from the same traffic light you are still not at the same spot as you would have been after turning left. even If you cross the road you were with the traffic light you are having block A on you right hand side but not block C on your left....In fact you would have to turn 5 corners in total! Make a drawing and you will see... with 4 direct right turns you would end up at the same traffic light were you started from...

Get over it or don't get an iPhone 7.
I used to think and defend Apple like you, then I realized that life's too short to adapt my life in substantial ways to a company's hip phase.

If you remove something that I need, I won't bother anymore trying beyond reasonable efforts to embrace "the future" if I believe the future is headed in a direction that benefits mainly the company.

Also I love how EQs are now the hot thing on iOS with headphones being digital.

Nothing ever stopped Apple from offering proper audio settings for the built-in DAC.

Now cyber-criminals or any of the american "services" can kill you through your headphones ;)

You've got hacked trough you ears. :D

Exactly the response I expected.

Right on the first post!

But, really. That change of port means that I cannot plug my iPhone to a battery and listen to my music while I am in bed in the night. And that change is indeed a significant one for me. Now, if I want to continue with an iPhone, I will have to get in bed with a charged up phone if I want to listen to radio or my music. I love the new iteration of the phone, but this is a drawback, period.

Versatility is compromised. That jack was a serious convenience in the smallest and subtlest but important of ways. I can take care of water resistance. I acknowledge the weather and don't try to fight it saying oh rain or torrent, I will have my free right to use my phone! I just keep it hidden in the bag if I have to be in the rain. But missing that convenience every night, not fair.

Bull. It's a very complex product and when you suddenly have millions of people all trying things out in a short period of time there are bound to be reports of issues. The real problem are idiots who don't understand the volumes the iPhone sells in and don't realize a few hundred (or even a few thousand) problems only represents a tiny fraction of devices out there. They like to pretend these issues affect the majority of users.

People having bigger issues with their iPhones will get new ones under warranty. Others will get an update to fix the undoubtedly numerous little bugs that popped up once everyone got their hands on the new iPhone. And unlike that POS OS from the green guy, people will actually get quick updates for these issues.

BTW, name me a single smartphone in history that "got it right the first time" and never received patches for various issues.

Well, 3 right turns is essentially a left ;).

That is the new innovative and courageous reasoning Apple could steal from you! We want our customers to be right always. If you still want to take a left turn, we are making you privy to a neat little trick: turn right three times and boom, you're left. :D

They removed a perfectly good and working solution for no good reason, and I'm definitely not alone in thinking this. There are plenty of people on here who see straight through the Apple marketing BS on this one.
and many people bought it...what a sad world

I'm not sure I understand where you're going with this. In one way or another you are going to adapt to this change. You will get a new iPhone and find ways to work without the dedicated headphone jack. Or you will keep your old phone and miss out on any new features in the latest iPhones. Or you will switch to a phone with a different OS (with all the hassles that that entails).

So basically you're following exactly his advice like he suggested. You don't have to defend any company or any product. Just move on. You said it yourself: life is too short.

But for those of us who'd like to embrace a different direction for the future than others, that's our choice too to stay with Apple.

Better be that than a advertising company (Google), or an expensive explosives company (Samsung)
Apple is also doing ads and we now have hissing iPhone 7. Could be the battery as the cause of the hissing.
[doublepost=1474355750][/doublepost]This is what happens when working full time to get stickers and a secondary App Store online instead of doing Q&A on other things.

Apple is in total software fail mode at this point.. but of course they are because Apple is a hardware company.

Really? I'd definitely say Apple is more of a software and services company at this point. That's mostly what they're selling.

Yes, the fidelity of THAT headphone jack in your smartphone is not so hot. There are headphones that provide their own DAC that do much better.

What is it with people like yourself who are so sure of yourself that you attempt to insult someone else's knowledge before even disputing a point?

The quality of the iPhone DAC is perfectly fine, the 3.5mm connector itself is higher fidelity than any wireless system is at present or likely ever will be due to physics.

Well... at least the phones aren't catching on fire.

In all seriousness it will get fixed quickly. All the headphone jack cry babies are jumping all over this like it means the phone is a failure and Apple is going to regret their decision. The phone isn't and Apple won't.

So you clearly are a fanboy then if you blindly upgrade every year just for sake of upgrading your defensive nature makes a lot more sense now that I know you are one. I understand the numbers perfectly as does apple they have gotten those core group of users who defend every move they do on forums like this and justify it as innovative and great.

I don't need a video to teach me how to use a silly adapter. It is is worse in every way as you have to make sure you carry it with you every where and are limited to having it work with just one device. Not worth 9 bucks to play into Apple's dumb game. They will reverse course soon enough once they get the bad sales numbers.

Also an old 720p screen for sake of profit is not the best ever tested an oled 1440p screen is however the best ever today. Maybe Apple will catch up in a few years.

Can you please buy an Android phone and not come back here? Trying to follow this thread and your comments are annoying, if other grass is greener you are free to move.
