Seriously. At some point, the press is going to get bored with all these "special events."
Not true. Apple is on the verge of changing everything and we can all sense it. Granted, next week is just some hardware upgrades, but last weeks announcement was the beginning of a completly new paradigm in media delivery. I'm talking about no more music industry, no more cable companies, no more TV broadcast stations, video rental services, ect. Apple is going to own it all!! The whole paradigm of consuming media is changing and Apple is leading the way. So, everytime Apple says they have something to announce everyone will come running to hear all about it. They are the rising star, the next "big" thing, -- insert metaphor here.
Everything is changing before our eyes. Think about it. Why watch your favorite TV shows on television with commercials when you can just download it and watch it commercial free? The implications of this are staggaring. Media companies like Disney are going to be able to sell directly to the consumer, no more middle man (cable, satalite, tv) and Apple is going to provide the technology to make it happen with their computers and web services software (iTunes). Apple is going to offer viewing on demand and your computer is the key to controlling it and delivering it to you (digital hub). That means you can watch what you want, when you want, and they way you want. Apple will give you the freedom, the control, and the simplicity to make it happen.
So, next weeks announcement is just one more piece of the puzzle and we will all tune in for it. It may just be some computer upgrades, but you never know. Maybe they will have...just one more thing.
