I would consider Apple One with you could build your bundle with 3 choices + storage @20 p/m.
I would drop Arcade for News and be a happy camper.
Going premier @$360 p/y is too steep in price during these pandemic times. Sorry, I'll pass.

I'm right there with you. Band of Brothers, and to a lesser extent The Pacific are my two absolute favorite shows I've ever seen on HBO. Generation Kill is a lower third, and then Sopranos. But, I am so hyped for a new entry in this series/genre. I am more hyped for that than Foundation, by a long shot.
typically, I’ll watch BOB once about every 18-24 months.. just to re-center.. these days, it’s about once every nine months. ;-(

You aren’t alone back in August I thought I was canceling the renewal but ended up canceling the service. They refused to allow me to finish my free trial and I refuse to be the only person the the US who pays for the service. I explained that I had in fact bought three devices this year they didn’t budge.
I don't see how it is even legal to not let you have the service until the trial is over like nearly every other service we have. The only one worse is Sirius with the inability to ever cancel. They need a law where you need to be able to cancel everything online without hassle.

Apple One isn't ready yet and they want to be sure not to lose people?

I think you're probably right, but how the heck can Apple One not be ready? This isn't AirPower, it's bundling a few existing services (they'd already said Fitness was coming later), so surely that shouldn't be beyond the combined expertise of Apple? Saying that, combining Apple IDs still seems to have them flummoxed after 10+ years.

Interesting, they must have some big hitters lined up for 2021 then? I’ve got my trial up till April and by then in 2021 I will probably be on Apple one anyway.

The problem continues to be a lack of back catalog.

That won't get solved for a good long while.

Right now these shows should continue to be thrown in for free with device purchases. You simply don't build a subscription offering off such a sparse catalog and just a couple reasonably successful shows here and there.

My issue is the app is all about pushing you to a host of other services, most of which I'd guess pay the fruit their 30% cut. Yes, one CAN scroll down a ways to find a view that is ONLY for what comes with the sub, but why should I have to scroll at all to see what Plus offers?

Yeah, that took me a while to understand the first time I ran the TV app on my laptop.

Everything I clicked on asked me for money until I realised that Apple TV, TV app and TV+ are three different things. A hardware box, an app, a TV streaming service. And you don't need the first one (I don't have one) and you open the second one to scroll down to find the third one :)

Yea even if it is hinging on Fitness+, they could still open up the bottom two tiers and possibly even make premier cheaper until Fitness+ comes.

And I cancelled my free subscription 3 days ago... Yikes.

Same here. I haven't watched a thing on it other than the first episode of Snoopy In Space. No point in keeping it and forgetting about it at the end of the month.

This has to be in relation to the release of Apple One. As a current subscriber of several services and having each family member with their own iCloud 2.99 per month charge, we will benefit from Apple One, and would likely have let Apple TV Plus expire until Apple One is ready.

Can you express the potential harm thrust upon you for canceling a free service that you clearly do not like and how that would be illegal.

he is probably referring to the disparity in policy for other services Apple offers... that somehow this particular service is treated differently or maybe even preferentially compared to their others
