The online Apple Store is down. Can orders still be placed via telephone? Just got my eligibility restored today and would like to order the iPhone 6. Thanks.
Give it a shot. 1-800-MY-APPLE

If the store is down that means something will be available for sale today or at least pre-order?

At least pre-order/order today. Wondering if something will be in-store tomorrow.

I really believe the future of the :apple:TV lies in some kind of App Store. They can't continue just adding random channels to the home screen. Eventually there needs to be a coherent API and developer base who can make channels for just about anything and present them on an App Store. This would also let far more TV networks provide apps on the :apple:TV.
For AppleTV to become a long-term mainstream product, it'll need a UI that's as easy and intuitive to use as TiVo to select what programs to follow and have it ready to view. The current mishmash found on AppleTV or Roku or any other internet-TV device I've seen (including TiVo when it tries to act as a Netflix client) just isn't going to cut it. For example, if I want to catch up on last season's episodes of Arrow I need to go into the Netflix app on my Roku, find it using that UI, etc. Then if I want to watch a recent episode, I need to go into the Hulu app, find it using that trainwreck of a UI, etc. There are other apps that might have stuff I'd like, but I don't want to go digging into each one browsing ... sluggishly ... from one ... to ... another. I don't use the TiVo much anymore, because I watch less TV and I'm switching to streaming for what I do watch, but I'm really missing its well-designed UI, presenting all of the content available to me (except streaming) through a simple easy-to-use system.

Apple store "we'll be back" page is still using the old nav bar. Amazing how long it takes Apple to get all their website pages on the same design language.

Me too, because Apple certainly will not repeat that disaster a second time. They are definitely able to top themselves!

This time, the livecast will be dubbed in Swahili and Ancient Greek, simultaneously. Also, the slides presented during the event will be upside down, and the faces of the presenting Apple executives will be overlaid with funny pictures of cats and random celebrities. At random intervals, rabid rats will be released onto the stage, and the "One more thing" final announcement will be the news that Carrot Top's new movie will be available for free on iTunes and will immediately be uploaded to every iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Apple TV, Mac and Newton.

You forgot, Tim Cook will also get hit with an RKO... out of nowhere!
(Look it up.)

I wish Apple would commit to the Apple TV already. I understand that they focused a lot of resources this year on the Watch, and even Apple can't introduce two major new product categories at a time (I consider an "open" AppleTV with a game focus to be a new category, since it wiould bear the full weight of a new developer and partner relationship initiative). I'm hoping this time next year we will be getting the big TV Event.

John Gruber's claims some of Apple's top engineers are working on :apple:TV. Makes me wonder if Apple is holding off on releasing something until they get the content side figured out. Personally I think there's plenty of updates Apple could make even if they don't have a major breakthrough on the content side.

Lol at the people who constantly complain about the last stream. Just remember how much you actually paid out of your pocket to watch the stream. Oh so many entitled people here. :p

No kidding. I'm pretty much over iPad's, never been a fan of AIO's like the iMac, but I do want an updated mini. I've been vacillating between an updated mini and a Surface Pro3. I don't need either one but my wife says I can have one or the other. I would prefer an updated mini so I can sell my MBA but still keep a vestige of OSX in my house. Without a mini update I'll hold on to my MBA and get a SP3.

In a little over 5 hours I will have my answer. I've waited this long, what's a few hours.

Why have a MBA and a SP3?

The "It's free, don't complain about it" mentality makes my head hurt.

No Apple is the most crazy company inthe world at 2014, request a certain OS and browser to watch a live stream idiots!

There was this guy Steve Jobs who said HTML5 will make everything so great as soon as we dump Flash

Exactly because Micro$oft never required anyone to download their Silverlight software to watch their streams. Or Micro$oft never required Internet explorer to watch their streams.

Why do people use a $ sign in Microsoft? Do they think it makes them cool?

To be fair, or not, the live streams from Apple that actually worked without a glitch are exceptions. Most of the time there's always an issue with watching these things live. So I'm not putting my hopes up. The mandarin dubbing was not a big issue last time, the stream constantly breaking was.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Until recently Apple had stopped streaming completely. We couldn't watch the keynote live. We had to resort to looking at blogs with pictures. They've only done handful of streams over the years.

This. Just because it's free doesn't mean we shouldn't expect a consistent service and quality.

Some people seem to think it does.

Well the constant entitled complaining about something you don't have don't have to pay to view makes my head hurt.

So we should just take anything we get just because it's free? If Apple were to give us continued free updates, but each one made the device run slower... at least it's free? If they did the live stream, but barely anyone could watch it because it kept freezing for them ... at least it was free?

You might have low standards, but I don't.

That's not the point. The snide remarks here are absolutely atrocious. It was a mistake. People are humans. Aren't you human? Nobody is allowed to make a mistake? That's all people are focusing on is the stream issues. With the horrible attitudes some people have here Apple should just go back to not streaming the event forcing people to look at blogs like we've done in the past. Nothing is going to be perfect when it's a live broadcast when there are millions of people trying to watch it at the same time. Heck, the Windows and Android fans that will never touch an Apple product are going to be watching the stream today. The competitors are watching the stream today. So aside from the the non-English language error last time there will always be glitches. It's commonplace for a live stream.

You care too much.

And as a side note - nothing is truly free. For example - my time is valuable. So if I decide to invest it in something, i want it to be worthwhile.
