That's not the point. The snide remarks here are absolutely atrocious. It was a mistake. People are humans. Aren't you human? Nobody is allowed to make a mistake? That's all people are focusing on is the stream issues. With the horrible attitudes some people have here Apple should just go back to not streaming the event forcing people to look at blogs like we've done in the past. Nothing is going to be perfect when it's a live broadcast when there are millions of people trying to watch it at the same time. Heck, the Windows and Android fans that will never touch an Apple product are going to be watching the stream today. The competitors are watching the stream today. So aside from the the non-English language error last time there will always be glitches. It's commonplace for a live stream.

Translation: It was a mistake, ergo the people on here need to shut up about it. No complaining. We're all human, we all make mistakes. Nobody supposed to actually talk about Apple's mistakes, though.

Why do people use a $ sign in Microsoft? Do they think it makes them cool?

Because... No matter if people are Apple fans, Google/ Android fans, Microsoft windows fans, some people with a disturb mind then feels good.

Some names.:
iCrap
Sam(e)sung
Micro$oft
Andtoy

and so on... Igonore "that" kind of people - they never write anything that makes sense. Must be hard for them to get through life. So feel sorry for them instead of arguing with them :)

All of those companies make some cool and useful products.

Some people seem to think it does.

So we should just take anything we get just because it's free? If Apple were to give us continued free updates, but each one made the device run slower... at least it's free? If they did the live stream, but barely anyone could watch it because it kept freezing for them ... at least it was free?

You might have low standards, but I don't.

I don't have low standards sir. I have realistic ones. Obviously you don't. Just remember Apple had stopped live streaming for a long time and anyone who wanted to view a live stream had to look at live blogs with pictures.

Unless we get a huge Apple TV update--this will be a huge non-event for me. I'm sure some will get excited about a spec update on the iPad, spec update on iMacs and another Yosemite presentation---but honestly, they could do most of that without a "special event".

My guess is they'll start out bragging about how many iPhone 6 and 6+'s they've sold. They'll probably ignore the iOS 8 upgrade numbers since the adoption rate has been pretty slow. They'll talk about how excited they are for the Watch coming out next year and then go into the spec updates. Really, this is going to be a non-event.

It isn't realistic to expect a company to get a live stream right? Even people on YouTube can get that one right. So what you're saying is that a company that has over a hundred billion dollars shouldn't be held to the same standard as Chris Pirillo?

Oh now I see why you're so frustrated about me putting a dollar sign in Micro$oft's name. Looking at your signature explains everything.

The last one crashed because they used iCloud as the server, right?

Also, this one will probably run fine. I can't imagine nearly as many people being excited about this event as they were the new iPhone.

For me, I won't get too excited unless there's a new :apple:TV announced.

I don't think anyone is frustrated about it. I think people think it's silly and immature. Surely you can present your thoughts and ideas (I've read your posts) without resorting to a tactic like that.

Whether I agree with your opinion on something or not - when it's riddled with childish moniker the post loses credibility.

I'm wondering whether the announcements of HBO yesterday and CBS today (channel specific subscribtions without cable) are the first signs of a new way of watching television and whether it is somehow connected to a possible Apple TV update today.

Oh yes, the fact that I had a problem with it even while I was using a MacBook Air is completely irrelevant. Just say anything to make your own puerile comment seem less puerile. Seriously, I hate SameSung and iCrap as well.

Nope I didn't say that. Those were your words. :p

Except you said your standards were realistic. You said mine weren't. My expectations are that a company with a hundred billion dollars will do insanely better than a guy on YouTube. And they failed that standard.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. Add these to the list:
-Shamesung
-Scamscum
-Samesum
-Micro*****
-...

These combined with "could of" and "would of" in posts are a clear indication of the physical and/or mental maturity of the poster.

That was my thought as well. I'm holding out hope--especially with the tag line "it's been way too long". It's been nearly 1000 days since their last release.

Why have a MBA and a SP3?

I am a fan of tech. Big fan. I enjoy the differences between OSX, Windows, and Android. Not the biggest fan of iOS but that's just me. My MBA allows a change of pace from my many Windows devices and Android devices. I'm fortunate in a sense that financial concerns really don't play a part in my tech purchases. I can get what I want, and all of these devices are just that; wants. The food on the table, roof over the head device is a company Windows laptop. It's the only one I need. I want a mini. I want an SP3. Don't need either. I prefer to have an OSX device and ideally it would be an updated mini. If it doesn't come to pass I still have my trusty MBA. As for the SP3, I just think it's a pretty slick piece of kit. Our IT guys have a couple and let us play around with them. Regardless of what someone thinks of MS, the SP3 is legit.

Funny thing, my favorite tech device is probably one of the cheapest you can get, a Chromecast. Sorry for the TL;DR. I just really like tech.

Update: Apple really pee'd in my Cheerios with the half ass mac mini update. I guess the MBA will have to stick around a while longer. SP3 for Xmas it is.

I'm on the same page as you. I think there is a small chance that they will announce something new though. There was some interview earlier this year when Tim mentioned they would be entering several new product markets this year. So the Watch would be one. Apple Pay would be another (which I'm still not convinced of unless they gain enough critical mass from vendors.) That's two. Several would imply 3 or more IMO.

Wouldn't it be awesome if, instead of randomly popping such "channels" up on AppleTV, Apple gave mere mortals some way to pick and choose what we wanted on our AppleTV devices? If only there were some precedent for a store of sorts, perhaps, for apps -- for an Apple device.

I already gave up and went Roku, but I keep my Apple TV around, hoping that some day, Apple will notice its potential as another App-based device and stop pushing worthless channels at it.

So guess what I'm hoping to see at today's event?

9to5mac at this time enmeded the 5K iMac retina history, now they expect an 4K *iMac*... seems they sources double checked mines....

My sources still conficent the new Mac of course to be 4K, and no 5K iMac, a 5K display will be offered to the new Mac Pro.

My sources also stand the *iMac* retina to be 23.8" , no word on retina cinema display size, an bigger iMac will arrive q4/15.

Further, new std wireless kbd will integrate Magic touchpad and backlit, besides being rechargeable *I'm not 100% on this as on the 4K Retina, about the touchpad to be integrated, but rure all this new wireless things will be rechargeable*, just an minor update to stay current with 3rd party Keyboards..

on of the most interesting rumour, is the iMac will be proudly renamed MACINTOSH, and some speech from WOZ (recorded or live).

*I'll love earing woz to annouce the Macintosh brand rebirth.*

all we know, all about new ipads, not much more, maybe an keyboard smartcover as last iPad surprise.

the new Macbook Air Retina will be announced, NOT HD, as leaked, but 2048x1536 (a bit more), available for Xmas.

From January I've Ear an new Apple TV device smaller and more powerful (a Stick?) lets see...

It's the future. Apple hopes to be a part of making that future happen. I'm not sure there's more of a connection than that though.

I used my mom's roku for the first time this past weekend. Granted i didn't use it for very long--but i thought the UI was absolutely horrible.
