How many people have ran into installation problems with OTA? I don't have access to a computer to do a restore, if anything goes wrong.

Indulge me, which other way should it be functioning, but?
No other way. It will either be useful to you, or it won't be. Even if it weren't "beta", some people will find reasons to complain about it, and even with the "beta" tag, some people will sing its praises.

There's no reason to get hung up on the "beta" classification. The only time it mattered was when the only way you could get it was to sign up to be a developer or join the public beta program.

Does anyone know if this release fixes the phone app freeze issue on iPhone 7 running 10.0.2?

I pray that this fixes my bluetooth connectivity issues and also fixes alert sounds (SMS,email, etc) from not playing when bluetooth is enabled. Can anyone verify either of these as fixed in 10.1 vs 10.0.x?

I can't verify such is fixed as I'm not running iOS 10 yet, however were you using Bluetooth like this in iOS 9? I filed a bug a few years back because AirPlay was automagically snagging Bluetooth audio connections when the BT devices were turned on. For my Plantronics headset, this would mean that I'd stop getting Mail and Messages notifications from the phone speaker until I REMEMBERED to go into Control Center and change the AirPlay destination back to "iPhone". I'd be interested in knowing if your issue was similar. At the time, Apple responded as 'Works as Intended', but pretty clearly it doesn't. I even tried to leverage it being an Accessibility issue, since I'm hearing impaired and can't stand to keep my headset in all day (it starts to hurt, and I'm not completely deaf as I can still hear notification sounds from the phone speaker). No dice. And it grabs that connection EACH AND EVERY TIME the BT headset is turned on, meaning I have to turn it OFF every… damn… time.

I'd prefer to have the ability to set in the Settings>Bluetooth>[DEVICE INFO] whether or not AirPlay automatically grabs the device as a destination and whether or not I'd like to also have Notifications played through the phone speakers too. The Phone ringer plays through both devices. I think the trouble with some BT car systems is that while the iPhone connects AirPlay automatically to the headunit when the car is turned on, the headunits will not play audio from the phone until the BT source is selected (I know some VW and Honda systems are like this); in these cases, Notification sounds go into a black hole.

(Apple "fixes" this with their AirPods because the AirPods can sense when they are inserted into your ear and relays that back to the phone, which enables/disables AirPlay. Unfortunately, in my testing, other headsets like the Plantronics Voyager Edge which also have the ability to sense being in the ear don't work in the same way; perhaps they aren't afforded access yet to that API.)

Yeah stability is the core issue with CarPlay. Some days I will go to connect it and it works, other days no. If I reboot the radio, then it will connect, so I'm not sure if it is an Apple issue of VW firmware issue in my MIB 2 entertainment system.

This is a little off topic of this thread but does anyone on here have a 2016 Honda Civic or Accord with CarPlay and if so, how is it?

What exactly is bokeh? Someone earlier asked how many people ever heard of it before the announcement of the iPhone 7 and I for one am not a camera buff and never heard of it. Is it just the blurring of the background while the closer image being sharp?

Yes. The phone's bokeh is so cringingly terrible.

No issues. But update is so minor, why do it until you get home? I succumb to the curiosity myself. But I also carry a second phone and I happen to have my iPad with me.

Why would the 7+ get portrait mode but not 6S+? What is the difference between these two phones that makes portrait mode work ONLY in 7+ and not 6S+? Apple sucks.

It's the 2 cameras on the 7+. Trust me, you're not missing out much. It does a terrible job. Some of the background is blurred, while other spots are sharp.

Not sure what you've been taking or seeing but the Portrait mode on the 7+ is better than all other smartphones out there. Is it perfect? Of course not, it's not a full fledged DSLR camera but it does a pretty damn good job if used right.

Do you even read the news? If you did you'd have the answer to your question.

Once you make the leap from 9 to 10, there's always a hope that things will get better with the next update. If you stay on 9, there's no point in upgrading (if ever) to 10 until the bugs get worked out near 10.3

Can someone please explain exactly what this bug is?

I only came to notice them after reading about them in MR

When in any app, double click the home button to enter multi-tasking. You will notice that the app windows stutter

Also, when heading back to home screen, you might notice that the backgeound image stutters back to full res. Some other user had a similar issue with the bottom app home bar (the grey one over the home button). Not sure if this is widespread

However, it doesn't affect use of the phone. Again, I hadn't noticed it until I read about it here

It may be intended behavior.
Open a few apps. Then double click the home button to open the mulitasking window. On an iPhone 7 I see the current app window move down slightly and then back up as all the windows are on the same level.

You can purposely make it more dramatic by pressing home once, and then delaying your second click.
