Updated to 10.1 Was hoping it was going to fix the issue of being able to search messages on iPhone 7Plus(only limited to this model), however I cant search thru messages that happened prior to the upgrade to iPhone 7Plus. This is getting really annoying. Did I pay for the Plus to have "PLUS" problems?

Its working for me.. I'm able to search messages from early this year.. iPhone 7 Plus 256GB AT&T

This feels very un-apple like to me. The user of iPhone shouldn't have to worry about things like this, especially when they can't do anything about it, other than not use their perhaps purchased app.

I agree. It would have been more appropriate to include that information in the energy section of Settings. I cannot stand receiving ’tons of alerts’ (Bertrand Serlet, anyone?) that provide no meaningful information to me. The same can be said about that notification when an app cannot access the Internet upon starting, because I blocked mobile data (well, duh!).

Has the new update fixed the alert tone issues where when an app is updated, the app reverts to the tri-tone alert regardless of which tone is selected? And then only a hard reboot, or app re-install fixes the issue? That is until a new app update?

OK, certainly this is said previously in 10 pages of posts, but the latest public beta appears to be the same as the official 10.1 release. I deleted my beta profile and no further update. On my iPhone 7, it is so far working without issue.

When I go into photo, the portrait mode said beta. Are they not done with it?

Successful update here on iPad Air and iPhone 6+. Syncs to iTunes fine.

We'll see if it takes care of the sound, rotation lock, and other minor issues after some usage…

Ok, updating now, I know, I didn't learn my lesson when 10 first came out and I tried to upgrade my 6s+. Anyway, first apple Logo has popped up. Anyway, what I don't get, is why are people so lazy to read what is in the update. Half the posts here are asking if a bug was fixed, music star rating fixed, etc. Why don't you read the release notes, it tells you everything. Why should anyone have to repost it, when it's on your phone and even in the OP. Anyway, done ranting about the lazy people. But for those who were too lazy not to read the OP, here is the list again, my guess, is you will still be too lazy to read everything

TLDNR!!!

I wasn't getting my .mac/.me/.iCloud email pushed with 10.0.3. I wonder if it's a server issue or an iOS issue. Maybe it's been fixed with 10.1? It's been happening for about two-ish weeks now.
It's been an ongoing thing for various people for a little while now: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/push-email-delays.2006288/

My 7+ and my wife's 7 are both on AT&T, and reception has been out of whack since 10.0.3.

Before upgrading, I had a 6s+ and my wife had a 5s. At our house we used to get full bars of signal, and it was still fine when we upgraded to the 7+ and 7 all the way up to 10.0.2. But when 10.0.3 came out to help with the issues Verizon customers were having, it really messed up our service. Now at our house it sits at ONE bar, and sometimes two.

So Apple, trying to fix Verizon's issues totally messed up mine on AT&T!!! They didn't need to mess with the AT&T modem as much being as hardly anyone had issues with the new phones on AT&T. Verizon users seemed the most effective.

So just to be sure, I put my wife's simcard back into her old 5s which is still on 9.3.5. Sure enough, FULL bars. So needless to say I'm a bit disappointed by whatever Apple changed in the GSM baseband.

Question, did they fix that issue with the Lightning headphones where if they are plugged in and you call someone, the mic audio isn't redirected? I'm too lazy to try it out.

Do you have any proof, apart from the number of some vague bars/dots that cellular sensitivity has actually changed?

Have you done a speed test in the old 5s, then a speed test on the 7 to see if there is any difference?

If there is one thing I've noticed about iPhone signal strength meters is that they are not accurate.

Just sayin'...

If you want full balls of signal, just turn off LTE.

I had hoped that iOS 10.1 would fix the Springboard crashes that happen randomly on my iPhone 7 Plus, instead it seems worse. I just got a Springboard crash with the screen locked listening to music.

The music stopped and the whole phone became unresponsive. After 20 seconds I was about to do a hard reset when I got a spinning wheel following by the enter passcode or Touch ID screen.

It appears to be fixed. My kakaotalk app now has its own tones!

10.1 is noticeably smoother than 10.0.2 was on my iPhone 5. There's less lag in animations, and apps do not re-load nearly as often. Feels just about as good as 9.3.5 did.

New update still didn't fix the removal of DELETE ALL capability we had in iOS 9 for email.

You were already arsed enough when trying to go all-wise in the first place

Furthermore, you have no authority over what someone expesses on these messageboards, even more so if these comments you are attacking are directly relatable to the issue/subject at hand
Go tell your mom if it bothers you so much.

Well these are older apps. If you saw my earlier reply to this message I referenced an article from 1/2015 whereby Apple asks developers to update their apps. Also they did not allow any new ones be approved. So this falls back to the developers to get their apps updated for new OS not really Apple. Any older apps that were not updated to work correctly with a new iOS is on the developers unfortunately and the consumer is caught in the middle.

You do realize that sometimes an app works absolutely perfectly and is no longer under development, right? This happens a lot; the app hasn't been updated for years but is still useful because it does its job and does it very well.

One example from the UNIX world is TinyFugue. It's a MUD client; the last update was in 2007. That's when the FIRST iPhone came out! But it works perfectly, does exactly everything it needs to do and doesn't need new features. It is mature, and works.

It is a fallacy that apps always need to be updated every year. Sometimes an app just works and should be allowed to remain legacy without annoying popups or removal from the app store. What if the developer retired? Why should their apps immediately die?
