4.06GB for 14.0 → 14.0.1 on an old iPhone SE?? I think that's the largest I've ever seen. That's more than old OSX upgrades.

I just noticed that Exposure Notification was draining my battery on iOS 14.0 (iPhone SE 2020). I'll see if 14.0.1 changes that, otherwise I have to turn it off.

Ever since iOS 14.0.1 my Airpods Pro won’t stay connected to my phone. Just shows connected but disconnects when trying to play sound. Rebooting iphone or repairing airpods no go... getting very annoyed with the multiple issues I am having now.

Ha, of course. I literally updated an iPad to 14.0 twenty minutes ago. It reset and turned on and told me that 14.0.1 was ready to download.

You will learn Padawan.

Sigh, I miss when we just got a few updates and things just worked. Software development is insanely complex, but someone at the top says “hey we hit 80% of the requirements, good enough for a release.”
The effort to get that 20% isn’t worth the effort due to time needed to get the same return on investment.

Just made those numbers up, but pretty so someone says something like that. Of course communication is key, and pretty sure also some devs might be afraid to admit they’re going to miss a deadline or something might have been sized wrong, so estimates are not accurate. Hopefully their retrospectives are useful.

Yep. UK Covid Track and Trace app was launched today. Installed it and within a couple of hours battery droped 4% just sat on my table unused. Deleted it. Sorry that is a bit OT.

Why does no one ever mention tvOS updates anymore? Just installed tvOS 14.0.1.

It’s going to make me reboot to install, but then I’ll lose my default mail app ;-)

Now the Apple Watch app loops indefinitely looking for a software update. Apparently it doesnt recognize that it already upgraded my watch to WatchOS 7.0.1

Anyone else getting this issue with the clock widget? (See time compared to the actual time on digital clock at the top) Only happens with the single clock version, which is the one I prefer for immediate at-a-glance convenience.

iPhone OS 1.0 (for iPhone 2G) 91.18MB

iOS 14.0.1 (for iPhone 11 Pro) 5.74 GB

The size of iOS has grown roughly sixtyfold since the original iPhone introduction.

I would add that with iOS 14, you had a longer beta testing period. But, iOS 14's introduction was also driven by the introductions of the new iPad Air and Apple Watch. The last beta version of iOS 14 was released only one day before 14.0 went live. That's not enough time to stamp out any remaining bugs that the final beta test might have revealed. Still, it seems that the iOS 14 launch has gone smoother than iOS 13's did.
