I care only about the battery drain issue.

iOS 13.X - end of work day @ 55%–65%
iOS 14.0 - end of work day @ 20%–35%

Try downloading iOS 14.0.1 using the Finder or iTunes. That will ensure that you install the full IPSW installation file, and replace the entire iOS contents rather than just the delta files. You're more likely to encounter random glitches if you've only done OTA iOS updates for successive iterations. Considering that the OTA update for an iPhone 11 is already close to 4 GB, while the full IPSW file is 5.1 GB, you really don't have much reason not to do the full iOS installation.

updated iPhone (no battery or other issues) and watch (battery issues and had to do unpair/pair) to the .0.1 versions.
Too early to tell if any battery issues were fixed (or introduced) ...

If you are performing an ECG, what is the shown ECG update version in the health app for you please?

Does it fix the iPad icon and widget sizes going crazy????

My icons all match in size now and my rectangle widgets are all equal in size. I’m on the iPad Pro 10.5. I’ll wait and see if these fixes don’t revert over the next couple of days.

Interesting. I have the AppleWatch Series 5 w/WatchOS 7 and I use Sleep++. Although the just released WatchOS 7.0.1 didn't mention anything health-related, but the Sleep++ update mentioned sleeping heart rate added feature.

For all those talking about battery drain this happens after every single major iOS update. Just search for iOS version whatever and then battery drain. It has nothing to do with iOS 14 but rather after a major insulation the phone is doing things to process the update. I don’t know the technical details but it happens in every update. If it’s more than a week then you probably should try to reinstall iOS. My battery life just completely sucked through the first few days. It didn’t even get me through a whole day

People always impatient. Battery is phenomenal on my iPad Pro 2020 and seems about the same on iPhone XR.....now they need to squash these annoying bugs!

Apple today released iOS 14.0.1, the first update to the iOS 14 operating system that was released on September 16. Today's update is a bug fix update addressing issues that weren't able to be fixed in the initial iOS 14 launch.

The iOS 14.0.1 update is available on all eligible devices over-the-air in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update.

iOS 14.0.1 fixes a bug that could cause third-party apps set as the default to reset after the iPhone is restarted. It also addresses a bug that could prevent the iPhone from connecting to some WiFi networks, and fixes an issue that could prevent sending email with some mail carriers. Apple's release notes are below:Apple has also released new updates for iPadOS 14.0.1, tvOS 14.0.1, and watchOS 7.0.1, all of which are bug fix updates. iPadOS 14.0.1 addresses the same bugs as iOS 14.0.1, and according to Apple's release notes, watchOS 7.0.1 fixes an issue where some payment cards in Wallet were disabled for some users.

I have a notification problem only on WhatsApp after installing iOS 140 update. Notifications and messages which have sent from people to my phone are not appearing in the locked screen. If WhatsApp app is open on background, i can get notifications in a short time period. But if my phone is locked and the app isn't running on the background the notifications aren't appearing on screen. I tried every possible things except restoring to factory settings which I don't prefer, however I couldn't solve the problem.

Yep, same. Its really bad because battery drains even when there is no usage...

Are you and others that have this problem using Waze?

See this and the following posts on that thread:

This is like the quickest release I have ever seen...they didn't discover this during few months of Beta but discovered it after few days of release?

Ive had bad battery since ios 14.0 release but since yesterday its back to normal, hope it stays like that now 😂 iphone 11

with 14.0.1? I’ve had the worst battery life on my 11. I did update last night hope it solves that issue. How many hours do you get on screen time?

I’m sorry people are having so many issues with iOS 14. It’s been really great for me; my devices have 2 GB ram, and I’m not seeing anywhere near the app/Safari page reloading I did on iOS 13. My emails appear right in the inbox too as soon as I open the app.

I’m guessing they worked a lot on improving ram management. I’ll chalk up quick battery drain to the fact that I’m still on an iPhone 7. Besides some minor bugs, iOS 14 has been a relief for me from the 13 woes.

I hope it also fixes the problem that in some scenarios email links still open up in Apple Mail instead of the selected email app (not referring to the reboot problem).

I have Outlook on my iPhone the only way I could prevent the Apple mail app from showing up is deleting it. However, if you like the Apple Mail app on your watch, you need to keep it installed on your phone.

Edit:

It does fix the reboot issue. However, the other strange issue still persists. When I click on an email via the Contacts application or a third party application it opens up Outlook (set as default). However, if you select an email on a webpage in Safari or in a message in iMessage, it opens up Apple Mail (if it is still installed).

Can anyone confirm this behavior?

Yes the same here.
Seems you are not allowed to make outlook your default when coming from safari ;)
