That would be a solution for me because I speak English too, but you can't expect every iPhone owner to speak English, so in the end it's still a flaw in iOS for a lot of people.
And if I constantly notice layout bugs in French, which's text isn't that long, I can't imagine what it's like if you speak a language with even longer text like German or most Slavic languages.

i was just joking
but seriously, my native lang is croatian and while it doesnt have very long words, i keep all of my electronics in english. it just doesnt sound right in other languages which is logical because all those words used in electronic devices were originally english.
translating languages is neither completely correct nor practical, i hope some day we'll put all these language barriers to rest and choose only one official language for the whole world. hopefully english. its definitely the easiest.
unlockLabel.bounds.size.width = 320;
unlockLabel.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = YES;

Yeah, it would definitely be easier, but the whole Earth population won't start speaking fluent English overnight.
In the mean time, it'd be cool if Apple simply added:
Code:unlockLabel.bounds.size.width = 320; unlockLabel.adjustsFontSizeToFitWidth = YES;
It seems like they don't always test their stuff in foreign languages, which they should since tests should be based on worst case scenarios.
What were they thinking when they added the blur behind the label? That's so ugly.
Cant say Ive had any personal experience, but seeing as German and the Slavic languages are much more closely related to English than any of them are to French, Id imagine itd be easier to make those work. Like I said, though, Ive not seen the interface in any other Germanic languages, so thats just a guess.
It seems like that was one of the known issues mentioned at least in the last beta, and based on the release notes for this beta it looks like this issue should be fixed now.is anyone else getting the failed message transmissions with iMessage?
I have been getting a lot with these past two betas.

I really hope 7.1 is out sooner than the earlier predicted date in March.
Another discovery:
Text messages make your iPhone do a single subtle vibration when you're already in Messages.app, rather than the usual strong two-tone vibration. Not sure if this was added before beta 4 though since I didn't test the others.
So, just 'bzz" instead of "BZZZZ BZZZZ".
How's Safari?

That's too early to tell. Let me try nin.com on my iPad![]()
I tried nin.com on my iPad Air and it still crashes. Having said that, Apple has muchly improved Safari on 7.1. Tab refreshing is less of an issue now, and only a few sites crash Safari. Much better than before.
What remains to be seen of course is, if beta 4 has improved anything even further.
and thats why english should be mandatory on electronic devices. kids will learn it in a few weeks, elders in a few months and in a few years all the people using electronic devices can communicate without barriers.
i would be a 'good' hitler, wouldnt i?![]()
