Wow, this site is still non-stop milking on this story on Twitter and Facebook. Can't believe it.

That's why I virtually never post here anymore. I lurk only to see when the proles have or fix problems. The forum members are nothing more than test mules to me.

Updated - No Issues

I updated my 32GB ATT iPhone 5s from 8.0 to 8.02 via OTA...No Issues.

For safety, I backed it up to my iMAC first and then sync'd through iCloud.

For anyone who still has issues, it's okay, Tim Cook and some top brass sold millions of dollars worth of shares just before all these problems. Tim Cook is about $35 million dollars richer, so if your phones aren't working, sleep well knowing Tim is much richer now.

Some good news from Oz! I did a clean install of 8.0.2 using iTunes on my MBP and now it works again. Service and Touch ID is back! Haven't restored my latest backup yet but will try that later.

Phew!

This leads me to believe that maybe this is an installation problem and not necessarily 8.0.2 problem(or at least not directly). Those that are having issues, maybe SOMETHING happened while they were installing.

There's NO way it would not work before but work after a new install if there was a bug with 8.0.2 itself(the bug would show up consistently). Another conjecture is that perhaps a bad copy of 8.0.2 was installed?

iPhone 6 on Verizon. Cellular and Touch ID are working.

So a news and rumors site is actually following ongoing developments? Things are actually working as they should? Thankfully someone is actually trying to keep up and inform. Amazing!

My iPhone 6 and fiancé's 6 plus are both fine after going from 8.0.0 to 8.0.2. Missed the update yesterday thank goodness. We are on Verizon.

Seriously... haven't they ever heard of the "edit" or "update" concept to update ongoing stories? Is MacRumors under new click-bait management?

Yeah people probably went over to Samsung and downloaded a dodgy copy from there.

The problem is that they posted two tweets basically saying the same thing in just 11 minutes.

Anyway yes they got me here to post a reply, they won :D

Question for those having installation problems, have any of you disabled password protection prior to updating? Just a theory re update and locked devices.

They got me to log in for the first time since January to respond, so they beat me also. Ugh.
