8.1.3 installed on phone, now requires iTunes connection -- hours away from home!

8.1.3 installed on phone, but it now requires me to plug in to iTunes to complete the process -- and I am hours away from home!

Calling the phone sends me straight to voicemail. Cannot make outgoing calls. Cannot do anything until I get it home and plug it in to iTunes.

Just upgraded iPhone 6 from 8.1.2 to 8.1.3 through iTunes no issues.
The device actually feels more smooth and looks like safari is loading pages little bit faster, maybe WiFi is fixed. 3rd party keyboard has been buggy for me in the past so I returned to default. After this update I tried turning swype keyboard back on haven't had any issues with it so far feels pretty smooth. Hope it gonna stay like that.

The WIFI issue has gotten worse!! The connection is dropping every 3 minutes!!! Why did I update?!! Looks like I will have to do a restore through iTunes yet again.

I am very curious what the new feature "configuration options for education standardization testing" is. Anyone know what this is and how one configures these options?

Just a quick notice, that extensive battery drain problem from earlier versions of iOS 8 was not fixed. Will wait for a day to confirm, but it seems that nothing changes, still sucks.

Apple, shame on you, the biggest issues are not addressed.

Strange... I'm not having any battery issues... After installing 8.1.3 on my Samsung Galaxy, battery life jumped to 80 hours of usage and web browsing. My only complaint there, is that I haven't been able to get any sleep since this battery refuses to die.

Only issue so far, is that when I installed 8.1.3 on my iPhone 6, my the phone spontaneously bent itself upon restarting during the install process. I've never seen anything like it. The phone was laying flat on the counter receiving the update through iTunes. Suddenly the phone started twitching, and then it popped up in the air a few inches, the two ends made some kind of gyrations, and then the phone landed back on the counter shaped like a V or tent. The acrobatics were cool.

On the amazing side, the screen on the iPhone 6 is not shattered. And the phone still works great. I've observed battery life improvement of 90 hours. My only complaint is that the phone no longer fits comfortably in my pocket.

Otherwise, great update Apple. :D

IOS 8 seems will never ever be stable and instead of waiting for APPLE to fix it why they don't let us back to IOS 7 ?!!!

I miss the down vote button.

Still waiting for changes to be applied... Also, my playlists now have no songs in them.

Were they replaced with U2 tracks?

They physically changed the exterior with a software update?

Seriously why is everyone complaining about battery life. Never had much problems with my 6 Plus. A battery has a lifespan of about 300-500 charge cycles. It is expected to deteriorate day by day. So it isn't surprising that you don't find the battery life better after this update. Because even if Apple did improve the battery life for this update, it would have been offset by your constantly ageing battery.

iPhone 6: 247 MB

I'm going in! W0Ot! If you don't hear back from me, send in a St. Bernard!

Wow, four minutes between "Install now" and being back in business. :)

Still no AirDrop from my iPhone 6 to my 2012 Mac mini... :(

Already Better

I installed the update without a problem on my iPhone 6 and immediately after restarting it is very obvious that the phone is much snappier than before. Apps open instantly and moving between menus has no lag (it feels like the 7.1 update for iPhone 4 users). Touch id still lags when unlocking but I'll take it due to the responsiveness of everything else. The network speed has also improved slightly and is obvious in apps such as twitter and safari. Also (one of the improvements that was actually mentioned in the update) the download size is much smaller. I took a screenshot of my storage usage before and after the update and i gained almost a full gig back. (I did flaw the results a bit by deleting one of my message conversations that was .2gb but the update still reclaimed some lost space). Overall this may be one of the best updates for iOS 8 so far and it was only a minor update

it is snappier because the os got refreshed.
game center signed me out and and some apps have some issues.

Still no airdrop from my iPhone 5 to my 2012 Mac Mini or vice versa, not upgrading from Mavericks to Yosemite....airdrop is useless to me.
Strangest damned thing... I can AirDrop from my Mac to my iPhone, but not from my phone to my Mac. :(

As I said in another thread tonight, the hardware on the latest iPhones is so great it's a shame they don't get the greatest software to go with it.

Thank you, did that and many more attempt to fix this issue, nothing helps, and this is definitely iOS8 issue.

Anyway, you are right, this totally drives me nuts :D

If it's an ios8 issue, shouldn't we all have it ;)
