- Just finished installed 8.1 on my iPhone 6 plus.
- For me credit card, I used my "Card on File with iTunes".
- Double checked the last four digits and triple checked I used the correct security code.
- Get an error saying "Card Not Added"
- I go to iTunes on my Mac, I double checked my account's card and even re-entered the info.
- Tried again on my iPhone and again, "No Card Added".
- My card is a Wells Fargo debit/Credit card, so it should work.
- Added the same card as 'an additional card' instead.
- This time it went through, but it's pending approval through the Wells Fargo Verify app. Hopefully this'll work.

Hopefully Apple won't get confused using the same card as a 'different card'

Once again a rough start to a new Apple service/update.

I think I read somewhere that your card on file with iTunes is supposed to work so it should work. Keep us updated. I'm going to try it as well.

Is it not possible to use touch ID for apple pay separate from touch ID for the lock screen? It's only letting me set up apple pay if I lock my home screen. I have never locked my phone, and don't plan on doing so.

Seriously bad idea to not lock your phone.

Apple Pay

Noooo! No PNC support yet. Will not even let me add the card.

Yeah and PNC has said soon so I assumed when 8.1 got out but it and Barclay (my apple credit card) both are not set up yet but "this year" I do not use or like the ones that are already active. Dang!

I was hoping SMS relay would populate the Messages app with all your existing SMS's on your iPhone, but it's just new ones that are sent/received. Sucks..

My credit union does not yet support Apple Pay. Sigh. I thought that it may work since it is a Visa card. Just contacted them to get an ETA on when/if it will be available.

Didn't Apple say that the NFC chip will only work with Apple Pay, not any other form of NFC?

So if that is the case it doesn't matter if a retailer has NFC terminals or not. It will not work like a normal NFC credit card or mobile using standard NFC

You misunderstood. What is meant by the NFC chip only supporting Apple Pay is that developers can't use NFC in their app to perform actions (like on Android). There is nothing unique about the NFC chip in the iPhone.

I hope this fixes my wifi issues, the connection keeps dropping in my bedroom, even though it get's fast speeds.

Never use to have this problem on ios7.

That was to say you can only use NFC to pay for stuff from credit cards. (i.e. NFC payments which Apple has branded ApplePay). They were differentiating it from other uses of NFC such as bus fare tokens, or key-card access to doors, or to transfer photos from one phone to another, etc. They were NOT saying it could only be used to pay for things at "ApplePay" branded terminals....any NFC terminal will do.

Apple meant that the NFC chip inside the phone will not be available to third party Applications (IE App store Apps). Just like TouchID was not available to third party Apps before iOS8.

What happens on the retail side is completely different and will work just like any other NFC form of payment (touchless credit cards, Android phones running Google Wallet etc).

Why not when you have Touch ID? And of course you want your credit card information locked.

Because my touch ID only works half the time with my fingers and I got tired of messing with it. I have nothing to secure on my phone that isn't protected from a separate password anyways. I DO want my credit card info locked SEPARATE from the lock screen.

What?!? Mine's 15MB Wifi but it still shouldn't be that slow... I'm getting a max of 180KB/s for both updates combined. :(

It depends on Apple's servers more than your internet. Your traffic is going slow for some reason. You can try to cancel and delete them and start again.

Just added my Capital One credit card, tempted to go to Walgreens now.

I'll meet you there! Time to go buy a candy bar. Then pay. Then think about how cool it was. Then buy another candy bar and do the whole thing again and again. I think i'll get addicted to hearing that confirmation "ding" when the payment is confirmed

i'm getting a 'software update failed' message repeatedly. maybe it's the wifi at my office.

?

not sure about that but after installing 8.1 (plus having yosemite i doubt that affects whether the setting shows up but it may) theres a new setting in messages setting------>messages------>text message forwarding.

it will ask you to enter the code prompted on your other device. if the code is not prompting. sign out of iCloud on that device. resign in then retry to get the code to prompt.

Thanks. I was looking on Messages on my laptop. Didn't know about that hidden setting on the phone.

Just added both my BofA Debit/Credit Cards, took less than 2 minutes to setup.
