I don't think that anyone else has mentioned this yet, but did Apple fix their braindead choice to disable the fast-access of the music app through the double-clicked home button?

I think they disabled that in 3.1 or 3.1.1 and if it's not fixed in 3.1.2 I guess there's no reason to update.

After updating I have the answer to my question: no play button. I have a presentation coming up next week, so I guess I'll abandon my iPhone for that task. Maybe a Pre or Android can pick up the slack that Apple left. If they'd allow a screen dump, they might win me over.

(picky, picky picky....)

For what its worth I'm on version 3.1 with the carrier file 5.5 and I still have fast access to the iPod with the double clicked home button and a play button on my menu bar in the photos application. Knock on wood...maybe I'm just special? I hope this update won't break that stuff.

The access to the iPod I think is a setting you can turn on and off - maybe yours got turned off accidentally? Check Settings>General>Home and make sure "iPod controls" is turned on.

Wow this is great. The problems about losing cellular networks was really starting to worry me.

Is it just my computer or is everyone else's un-synced apps showing as other now in the capacity of itunes?

Wow this is great. The problems about losing cellular networks was really starting to worry me.

Aint that the truth. Those stupid problems made me damn near unreachable for a few days to friends/family. GG Apple and AT&T for fixing it, but why did a bug like that slip through testing in the first place?

Updated successfully - took less than 10 minutes. Haven't played around much, but so far no issues.

I'm still on 3.0, as it is the last version to support (unofficial) tethering, which is worth more than gold, and certainly worth more than anything in 3.1.X.

When a way to re-enable tethering is figured out for 3.1, I'll update.

Because only a very very small percentage of iphone users care about wireless syncing.

Untrue! I want it too!

My tech retarded best friend brought it up all on his own too!!!!

He got a gold star... u know... for thinking a little.... instead of ripping another bong.

Because USB is 440 mb/s and 802.11n is only 54 mb/s.

DUDE!

You think the flash memory on these phones even writes at 30 mb/s?

HA HA HA HA HA

also,
802.11n is 160 Mbps and up... NOT 54... you're thinking of .11G

Slip of the tongue I'm sure.

ICS file

So uh, did they add ICS file support? I'd love to be able to open a calender file on my iphone. :p

So, I thought everything would go smoothly, but I guess not. I have no Wi-Fi. It connects, but I cannot browse the web. I am restoring right now. Not that happy.

Were any of you having the network loss issue, also getting the "Restore Needed" message? I have been through 4 3GS since launch. Everyone having the same issues. Randomly not waking from sleep, delayed wake from sleep, loss of cell services till restart and "Restore Needed" messages. I am praying this updated fixes the issues. So far since I installed around 3 PM its been working.
