Heh, everyone else is slowing down and mine dropped from 45 minutes to 5 minutes and now down to 1 minute.Mine is now estimating 2 hours 45 minutes! What happened.
This is a point zero release. There is no combo updater. How long does Apple take to release Combo Update after a major release like this one?
Oh, thank you. So I assume that there will be combo update for 10.13.1.This is a point zero release. There is no combo updater.
Folks just explained it:How long does Apple take to release Combo Update after a major release like this one?
That's not what a Combo Update is.
A Combo Update is a standalone updater to the major software release (like 10.12 Sierra). As its name implies, it is combination of updates (deltas). Thus there is no 10.xx.1 Combo Update. The Combo Updates start where there are multiple delta updates, namely 10.xx.2 Combo Update which includes the 10.xx.0 > 10.xx.1 changes, as well as the 10.xx.1 > 10.xx.2 changes.
The major releases (like 10.12.0 Sierra and 10.13.0 High Sierra) have their own standalone installers. When Apple releases a new minor version, they rebuild the downloadable Mac App Store installer so it has data from that latest minor version release. Thus if you download the OS from the Mac App Store, you are getting the latest official release including any minor revisions (if available).
No, a combo update is for .2 releases and above. In other words, you could apply 10.12.1, 10.12.2, then 10.12.3. The faster method is to apply the 10.12.3 combo update, which is cumulative: it includes all other patches below it.Oh, thank you. So I assume that there will be combo update for 10.13.1.

Where are you deleting it from?Same here, deleted original small download and re-downloading and now getting the 5GB file.
Me too . (Including the screen glitches)I managed to grab it immediately in the UK, 4 minutes to download. Reporting 41 minutes to install. A few graphical glitches with a 5k screen but appears to be fine now.
In layman's terms, what the fudge am I looking at?If this is accurate, it's a HUGE issue: https://twitter.com/patrickwardle/status/912254053849079808

Applications folder. Close MAS and delete the Install macOS High Sierra app.Where are you deleting it from?
The Application Folder, it was called "Install macOS High Sierra.app", around 20-30MB.Where are you deleting it from?
No, you still don't get it. The Combo Update has multiple intermediate updates, like 10.13.1 and 10.13.2, thus there won't be a 10.13.1 Combo Update because there's nothing else for it to be combined with. It will simply be called the 10.13.1 Update and will only include the bits that will take a system from 10.13.0 to 10.13.1.Oh, thank you. So I assume that there will be combo update for 10.13.1.
If true, an unsigned app (i.e. out of the app store) could dump your Keychain which contains all sorts of saved passwords, WiFi passwords, certificates, etc.In layman's terms, what the fudge am I looking at?

There is no combo (or delta). This is the initial .0 version.
