No Metal support on the GPU... the discontinued models were pre-AMD GCN, NVIDIA Kepler, or Intel Ivy Bridge integrated graphics.
Indeed it is. But conversely, I’m amazed that my late 2009 iMac was supported for nearly nine years.
Supported since DP2. Now maybe you could download and troubleshoot the problem with your GPU?
It's super, super slow downloading this thing.... Can you guys stop downloading Mojave for a second.... until I finish my own download? Thanks!

It's probably exactly the same as the last beta, 18A389, and all they've done is do a new build to bump the build ID.
Yes and yes. No question the 2011 Macs should've gotten dark mode, even if next year's 10.15 release drops support for them.
It's very disappointing to see Apple doing so well when it comes to supporting smartphones and tablets, but so poorly when it comes to supporting laptop and desktop computers. OS support has not kept up with the increasing longevity of older hardware on MacOS like it has on iOS.
Otherwise, Mojave is a solid release (aside from Apple's decision to cripple MacOS Server, which means I'll be holding off on the Mac Pro for now).
Yeah just done that too.....until they start issuing beta updates, when my curiosity will ‘oblige’ me to re-register for betas.......
This machine was only discontinued just under two years ago so I'd reckon it's got another 3-4 years of OS upgrades in it yet.
But AMD, NVIDIA and Intel don't. You'll find your graphics are equally unsupported on Windows 10.
Hope they release beta 1 today as that'll fix all the bugs in 10.14.0.

I canceled the download on mine and restarted it and the 2nd time around seems to be a little bit faster....
Perhaps, but 18A389 will not update to 18A391 using software update. The full installer needs to be downloaded.
That's only a problem if Win 10 stops supporting those graphics cards. Windows still has drivers from 1992 in Windows 10 so not something to be concerned about.
Annoyingly the download seems to be getting throttled.I'm on a gigabit connection at work, and the first third of the download was at near-gigabit speed, then it got throttled and now it's only pushing about 2-3MBytes/sec at most.
Nice tease, Apple servers.
This is my experience as well. I'm downloading from my Comcast Business static IP where I can get faster-than-gigabit traffic sometimes. It started out like a bat outta hell but my download time just went from 5 minutes to 36 minutes and it's not yet half done.
