A zero-day vulnerability in Apple Mojave has been disclosed on the day the latest version of the MacOS operating system leaves beta and becomes available to members of the public.

The co-founder of Digita Security and creator of Objective-See Mac security tools Patrick Wardle revealed the security holes on Monday. [...]

The clip shows how an app can be used to compromise the Mac operating system, bypassing privacy controls and permitting access to a user's address book.

This information, containing contacts for demo purposes, was then copied to the machine's desktop.

Welp.

The reason a lot of the older machines can’t run Mojave is that Apple is requiring the GPU to support Metal 2.
Most of us here know the official reason Apple gave for dropping the older Macs. But those of us who are following the MacOS Mojave Unsupported Macs Thread know that Mojave still contains all the code necessary to provide OpenGL acceleration on pre-Metal Macs.

So what's the real reason these Macs aren't supported?

So I unenrolled from the Beta Seed, then clicked the link here and took me to the App Store, clicked Get now downloading though thru the Software Updates in the system preferences. That's very different for those of us on 18A389.

UPDATE: Downloaded in under 2 minutes full 6.02GB.

'4 hours remaining'

What is the best way to do a fresh install? I have a newer iMac, and I don't recall them having discs like back in the day.

Is there known way yet to make just the Finder light mode? I like having the dark menu/dock and most of the other apps, but I'm not liking the dark mode version of the Finder..

Looks like it doesn't update on GUID partition tables. Is there a way to convert? or will I have to simply do a fresh install?

But AMD, NVIDIA and Intel don't. You'll find your graphics are equally unsupported on Windows 10.

But the older drivers will still allow you to use them with Windows 10 so you still get the other benefits of the updated OS. I wouldn't mind using an older OS X if Apple was better about keeping the Browsers and other apps up to date on it even if I can't run the latest OS X. I just got a free broken 2010 27" iMac that I fixed up and it works great, but I can't put the latest OS on it. It's still good for a couple years with HS, but after that it would be nice to give to my parents and still get at least the basic web browser and security updates.
