I can remember going to an Apple Store and waiting in a line to purchase an a copy of 10.5 the day it was released. And it was released at a random time like 5:00 PM. The store closed early and reopened that day to sell the OS. Fun times!
And in 2018, Apple can't even command a queue for the iPhone or Apple watch outside their Apple Stores on the day of their release. Stores in Birmingham and Solihull in the UK didn't have any queue that wasn't larger than any ordinary day.

That sounds similar to mine and Mojave’s has been great since Beta1 for me. Best OS in years .
THis year, Apple did it, software wise, ios12 is a bless, macOS Mojave is very nice, watchOS 5 is fine especially with the new AW series 4

A very sad and depressing day to all of us who still using an older Mac from 2009, 2010, or 2011...

Not all. Mac Pros 2009 and up can run Mojave.

Anyone done a update rather than a fresh install
Don’t really wanna do a fresh far to much on my Mac

Always done updates rather than fresh installs. Never had an issue so far.

3hrs left for me and my connection is 500mb/s down

Mine downloaded just now. Took a couple of minutes start to finish. Must be a lot of contention at your end.

The queues have all been for the Genius Bar the past few years.

No
I heard back to my Mac was outdated and replaced by Remote Desktop. I never used it myself, Remote Desktop works. Is that true? Or are there things on back to my Mac that are no longer available? If so, I would keep running High Sierra
No matter even if you keep running High Sierra, BTMM services will be killed and stop working sometime in the future. I use BTMM to remotely manage my Airport modems. In fact, I still use the old version of the Airport utilities to check the network connection speed and the connection history of the remote Airport modems I manage but that will all be history in no time. Apple doesn’t care one bit and as far as they are concerned anything other than iOS devices and wearables are a burden to the company and they grudgingly carry on selling computers and such.

What is the best way to do a fresh install? I have a newer iMac, and I don't recall them having discs like back in the day.
Press Restart CMD + OPTION + R, starts internet recovery. Select disk utility Erase Hard Drive, If it Asks for a name "Macintosh HD" quite disk utility Then elect install Mac OS when it asks for a location select "Macintosh HD"

Most people pre-order online now, I’ve never stood in line for any product. The Apple Watch Series 4 seems to be very popular with dates having slipped not long after pre-orders started.

Why Apple included grouped notifications in iOS but not macOS?! *rolls eyes* FAIL.

Pro/Power user focussed release this year.

And next year, along with marzipan, I suspect that a great deal of the iPad iOS apps and system UI will come to the Max, which I imagine people on these forums will have some opinions about.

So be careful what you wish for! :)

Downloading Mojave now, I wonder how well it’s going to work on my 2012 iMac.

I'd like to take a moment and thank everyone for downloading and installing this release. Thank you guys for testing the waters for all of us who'll wait for .1+

That interested me too. The image quality in the last beta with non retina displays was really bad. Even retina mac users are complaining and many have a second 1x display like a 1440p 27". Running Windows is much better on the same displays at the moment (so sad...).

that is quite discouraging ...

I will now do a full time machine backup to be able to switch back to high Sierra, if I ever find the courage to install Mojave, lol

For a 2012 Macbook pro with only 4gigs of ram is the performance absolut stunning

Good to hear.

I'm kinda hesitant to upgrade my 2015 rMBP 15". But seeing a older model runs great, I might do it too. The thing is, I don't want any, and I really mean any performance hits, since I need to it run flawlessly for work and tbh there aren't (for me) any noteworthy features except better security. But checking the latest MacRumors article about the security leak makes me put off the update even further. :p

Sigh..... on 2011 MacBook Pro. I’ll wait till Apple releases new iMac this year since iPad replaced my mobile needs.

(For those looking to get new Macs to get Mojave, but not planning on getting MacBook Pro, DO NOT BUY. NEW UPDATE SOON. ANOTHER APPLE EVENT PLANNED THIS OCTOBER TO FOCUS ON Macs and iPad.

Sigh. Using "Back to my Mac" one last time to kick off the upgrade on my home iMac so it'll be done when I get home. Unfortunately, upgrading the iMac to Mojave removes back to my mac functionality so this is only fitting :(

BTMM has never been stable for me since Yosemite.

My 2018 running the latest beta isn’t seeing an update. I recently wiped it. Should I have to reinstall the beta access utility?

I’m seriously hoping Apple update Mac’s later this year! the iMac was 20 years old and nothing got announced, the rumoured new MacBook Air with Retina display and thinner bezels is rumoured for an October event.

Installed the update however now iMessages isn't working. Attempted to log out and log back in but can't get past the login screen. Has anyone else experienced the same issue?
