The MBPtb will never be able to be used to create something as important as TP.

Never
.

The invention of TP raised the bar too high for Apple's bar to ever come close to reaching, no matter what tool is used.

The MBPtb does not wipe the TP ... the TP wipes it. That's how important TP is.
:D

Hmm, not really an ad for me. I prefer the Jonny Ive promo that overviewed the laptop as a whole rather than just promoting the Touch Bar.

"Ideas push the world forward" and "Introducing a tool for all the ideas to come"... in other words, we've run out of them so here's something we hope someone will use to come up with some new ones!

Penicillin was a discovery that moved the world forward; Touch Bar is a pressure-sensitive strip on a laptop keyboard.

No, you are wrong. With the Touch Bar the new generations among us who can only communicate in symbols now have a way to speak with a computer. Before they were limited to a phone. The Touch Bar means when those of us who use letters, words, sentences, and paragraphs leave this earth there can still be novels about ✌️❤️. So yes, Touch Bar is quite consequential. It will save humanity.

Tim: Yes, i want them in a line... straight just like the Touchbar! I like how they look like the lightbulb Emoji! :cool:

I was so very relieved at the end of the ad when the MBP was billed as a tool for ideas (the way the flint and rock were tools for fire), and not the idea itself.

The whole time I thought they were going to hype up the Touch Bar as the next world-changing idea. While that may still be somewhat implied, the explicit message is much more powerful and true.

But you could say that about any modern computer. My takeaway was Apple thinks THIS specific computer is uniquely capable of bringing the world's next greatest ideas to life thanks to the touch bar. Which, I think is fair to say, is laughable.

I don't get it...

MBP = exploding light bulbs?

MBP = bulb that blows?

MBP = inventions that blows?

And that reference of rocket launching then light bulb explosion, only remind me of sad sad tragic of Challenger;

What a confusing commercial, switch those bulbs to Galaxy Note 7 at least add a bit of dark humor...

Well, I guess it better than watching Mr. Whipple squeezing the Charmin

So whenever you look at a lightbulb, you should be reminded of how it could explode and is like a Macbook Pro?

I think Apple's marketing team really stretched the utility and innovation of the touch bar. Apple has a lot of good innovation (mostly under Job's leadership), but this one isn't that revolutionary.

I wonder if Tim is actually stupid enough to believes this own hype.. I guess Captain dongle head is at it again..

What's weird though is that there ads have gotten better, but this is one I really don't like.

I disagree. People are upset about the ports and the non-upgradeability, but they only quibble about the Touch Bar because it's new and unfamiliar. Once more people start using it, the tune will change drastically. It will really become a defining feature that "the other guys" just can't match. Macs will be unique once again.

I admire your optimism.. but I don't agree at all.

They should do an ad using the song Singing in the rain. Where a man is doing the dance from the song and it's raining dongles.

I keep hearing this stuff about dongles, and sometime I feel like people are either joking (like they do with the safari snappier, Steve wouldn't have done, and so on) or being over dramatic (as it is quite common in this community)
But tell me this.....
I intend to buy the 13" MacBook pro to use it as a mobile notebook when travelling, but mainly at home with LG 27UD88-W 27" monitor. I do photography (Yes, I use SD card) and usually work with final cut pro, Photoshop and light room. Now how many dongles you predict I must have? And am I alright to think I could do with just 1?
