I find I only ever got the R and L when the charges between the two were different. There is probably a range. Otherwise, 99% of the time I get the case as one percentage and the AirPods combined as a second.

I also always use the AirPods together. To save battery I have seen folks use one at a time. Under that circumstance I am sure you would see different percentages for each AirPod.

My update went great without a hitch. Could be placebo effect, but the noise cancellation seems better.

I got stuttering with my airpods 2 after about 10 mins or so when watching youtube videos on my iPhone 11. The workaround was to remove them and put them back in and it would go away. The update seems to have fixed it.

AirPods 2 connected to phone, but not seeing an entry for them in About screen. Why must MR turn this site into a den of lies?
You really believe MR intended to deceive you? You believe that's the most logical explanation here? Do you think everyone here who are mentioning their version numbers before and/or after updating are part of some sort of conspiracy with MR?

And doing what the article says, going to Settings>>General>>About on the phone, never occurred to you?

I've not plugged the Airpods 2 case to the power for the last 3 days and I just use it with my Macbook Pro for taking calls. It was updated with the latest firmware. I think, we just have to keep using it. I rarely use it with my iPhone as i take most of calls in the Macbook.

It solved a handful of issues for me.
1) Airpods frequent disconnect with the Macbook
2) Airpods not selected as default device when i put the Airpods in the ears.
3) Airpods speakers wont work after listening to a call or music.

I've raised all the above issues to Apple and i got them fixed now with the updated firmware.
I still have few minor issues, but I can live with that.

My AirPods Pro got the update, but now the charge between the two earbuds is dramatically different, with the left at 66% and the right at 30%.

Unless I'm missing something, all iPhones still have a Lightning port, so your USB-PD charger should still work with your AirPods provided you've got a USB-C-Lightning cable.

I had the same thing happen, I just took out and reseated the right earbud and in 30 minutes both buds were at 100%.

Today I did some more testing with the APP and its newest firmware. And I have to say it’s a bit disappointing. Especially the reduction in ANC.

I lunch at Starbucks on workdays and with the previous firmware the APP were able to reduce the background chatter by 80 percent. Pretty amazing IMO. But today I could hear clear conversations with ANC enabled. Now there’s only 30% ANC. Is there anyone else experiencing the same reduction?

Tomorrow I have an appointment at the Apple Store to have them replaced due to a continuously failing seal test. I’m curious to find out if the fresh AirPods ANC + soundstage is better than my current ones. I love the APP! But very stable and reliable they are not!

Pressing the button on the case for 15 seconds until the light turns orange resets the Airpods. It fixed it for me. At least I think so, since I've been using them for a couple of hours now.
Tried this but the light never turned orange for me. Only blinking white light. And the left AirPod doesn’t work still after reconnecting. Anyone have a clue how to solve this?

I think the huge reduction in ANC you experimented is somehow related to seal test failing.

Keep the post update after the swapping. I’m curious to know if they’ll give you a white box replacement or new product...

Yeah, if seal becomes worse, ANC becomes worse.

And regardless of all the people saying these seal and fit-test failures have to be some kind of hardware fault and not actually a seal problem, I can say with 100% certainty that mine, for whatever reason, just don't seal in my ears perfectly the way they did when they were new. They still sound fine, really, but not sealed enough to pass fit-test without a little extra pressure added from my fingers during the test.

I also have problem with my left pod (airpods 2) after latest fw.
Add me to the list of those with problems with the left AirPod. I finally got it playing sound again after many full resets, but auto ear detection and any tap gestures are totally dead.
I have a Genius Bar appointment later today, hope I get there before they run out of replacements!

Hoping this improves the ear fit detection algorithms...

hoping this fixes:
Right ear pod not working and having to desear into the case for 15 seconds (every damn time)! Would not have bought these if I knew this occurred.

recording of voice notes on Watch Nike+ S4 in Notes or my workout app Strong! Grrrrr!!

Edit: seems that my AirPod pros updated Monday night and I didn’t know until just a few minutes ago. I did the manual check as I had not plugged in my AirPod case to light night last night or during the day Monday.

update 2C54 does NOT fix the issues I’ve been experiencing mentioned above. Going to have to check in with support to figure out what the dealio is ... AirPod v1 did work in the use case I need.

Have updated my airpods. Sound quality is greatly improved and I’m getting around 3 hours more battery life.

The one flaw I noticed in my Pro's compared to my 1's is that I think EVERY time I took a 1 out my ear, audio stopped. Maybe once a week or so, when I take a Pro out my ear, audio continues, sometimes to the naked AirPod, sometimes through the iPhone speaker.

So that's one silly little buglet I'd like to see fixed in this update.

My issue where the right AirPod Pro randomly disconnects after a few mins if no audio is actively playing persists with this firmware update.

Edit: My left AirPod Pro is no longer able to pass the seal test on any size (I use the default Mediums normally). It def'n still sounds fine and sealed, but, it just won't pass the test no matter what.

So we're on the third iteration of firmware for AirPods Pro now, right?

I use mine mostly in a noisy environment, and, not having used noise cancelling headphones before, it was bliss. Worked amazing well. And then, noise cancelling started working quite obviously less well. I assumed they perhaps weren't sealing as well as when new - maybe the rubber tips were now more slippery.

I doubt that's it, though, because now that I'm on the current firmware, I hear the same things others here have heard - they're warmer now, but those airy highs I was enjoying are lessened. And noise cancelling is still nowhere near as good as at first. What a bummer! (I assume when I noticed worse NC it was firmware #2)

My preference would be to go back to the original trade-off - great noise cancelling but slightly sterile but very precise sound. Even though most will just play their music loud enough that the current level of NC is ok for them, and they're gonna be listening to vocals so the midrange boost is good for them, that isn't me, unfortunately. I was really digging all that detail before, and the ability to play it not as loud.
