Chrome is still better, Firefox is still better, no I don’t care if it saves battery if I can’t block any ad, no I am not gonna pay for a browser extension 🤣 the AdBlockers for Safari are a joke, the catalog of extensions is like Apple TV content (dead AF).

They are tinting the extensions based on what color accent you're using throughout macOS, minus graphite which is showing them as blue. It doesn't look good, and it's even worse with inactive buttons.

Not WIPR. It kicks the crap out of anything Chrome offers. It does cost $1.99USD on the App Store but I happily paid for it and it's been 100% perfect and well supported by the developer.

So.. Safari updates for High Sierra are officially dead now :(

Been a good ride, still love HighSierra though on my MBP 2010.

Anyone else having issues with YouTube in Safari 14? I go full screen and the video controls and mouse pointer don't disappear.

Edit: Just needed me to quit and relaunch, which I wasn't able to do at the time due to doing work in another tab.

<Show all tabs> is the closest thing if I keep a bunch of sites open. But this freezes my iMac running Catalina 😭

I have been complaining about this for years. If you have a dozen of tabs, or may be hundreds of tabs. And If you previously closed the browser window and reopen Safari, they will be in an idle state, basically not loaded into memory, Show All Tabs somehow force all these tabs to *Reload*. Causing CPU spin and system halt.

Worst if you have hundred of Tabs, you will ran out of memory and Safari will start paging tens GB of Data to your SSD. Basically shortening your SSD lifespan along with it.

Is anyone else having issues with Netflix on Safari 14?
I keep getting "Netflix Error S7706" error now whenever I try watching something.

It was working fine before the update. 😕

Updated to Safari 14.0 and now I can’t see any images on Padlet.com.

Well, Top Sites is no more, pity that. I liked that feature. Now we have Start Page with all sorts of 'things'. Can 'Frequently Visited' be expanded to show more than five sites? If anyone can figure out how I'd sure like to know, I hope it doesn't end being some form of terminal mojo on my part.

I cannot test it on this Mac, but if you enable the Develop Menu and go to "Experimental Features" there is an option to enable WebRTC VP9... The VP9 codec is what enables 4K playback. If you don't know what the Develop Menu does, I don't encourage enabling it, but if you've used it before and know how to use it, this could be an option to get 4K YT working...

macOS Big Sur didn't launch alongside iOS 14, iPadOS 14, tvOS 14, and watchOS 7 today, with the update coming later this fall, but Apple did release the Safari 14 update for macOS Catalina and macOS Mojave users.

Safari 14 brings improved performance, customizable start pages, a Privacy Report to see which cross-site trackers are being blocked, and a new tab bar design that provides tab previews so you can see what you have open at a glance. Today's update also removes Adobe Flash. Apple's release notes for Safari 14 are below:The new Safari 14 update can be downloaded by opening up System Preferences and choosing the Software Update option.

Update infected my favourites bar with Google, Facebook, Wikipedia and other stuff. Removed.

Issues? For sure. I'm allowed to play one video. The next won't play. If I restart Safari it sometimes work. Came right after I installed Safari 14. No issues before.
