You wouldn't know reading some of the responses here. I suppose when people live more sheltered lives they have to channel their angst and frustration into something. A recent close death in the family sure helped me put things into perspective, that's for sure.

Someone needs to develop a civility plugin for Safari or Firefox to translate extremes into something more pleasent to read. I suggest it draw quotes from P.G. Wodehouse characters.

Unfortunately the english language encourages extremes.

Sales prove very little.

Just because Transformers 2 grossed almost 1 billion doesn't make it a good movie.
Just because Microsoft has a market share of over 90% doesn't make it a good company.
Just because Fox News has the most viewers doesn't make it a good news outlet.
Just because everyone listens to Lil Wayne doesn't make his music good.
Just because everyone read Harry Potter doesn't make it good literature.
Just because the iPhone has a continued demand doesn't mean it's a fully functional phone.

If anything, it proves that people are very very dumb when it comes to spending their money and time.

Just because mobile carries suck in the US doesn't mean they suck outside US.
Just because some trolls keep repeting that iPhone has an issues doesn't mean it actually has an issue.

Maybe it was removed because you has to hold tephones in a unnatural way todrop signal, but holding the iPhone 4 normally, drops all bars and the call.

agreed... other smart phones require a "death grip" the iphone 4 requires a simple touch with a single finger. hardly the same.

Huh, that's interesting. Do you own an iPhone 4? That doesn't happen to me. In fact I can hold or touch the "weak spot" and see the bars go UP! Also, I have had my phone 2 weeks now and I have dropped 1 call!

It is a non-issue. The proximity sensor is much more of an issue and that is getting fixed. Better be in 4.1!

And just because you can make a whole list of comparisons does not make a single one of them anything other than fatuous.

And just because you can make a whole list of comparisons does not make a single one of them anything other than fatuous.

Well... all items on the list are facts. It's not about getting exposure or good sale numbers or high post reply. It's like a dot above "i".

Just like the fact that the i4 has a design flaw and people are happy with some ugly rubber on top of it.

Anybody that fails to see it is a simple retard. And that is why apple is still making big $$. Just a fact. Nothing for you to drool on or masturbate about.

I wonder if they were pressured to retract this?

Think about it: A retraction could only be forced if what Apple published wasn't the truth. But not a single one of the phone manufacturers in their belaboured press releases dared to make the claim that Apple wasn't saying the truth. Now why would that be?

Those people would have found a way to bash Apple regardless of the response.

As an example: Whenever people discussed the price of a phone, they discussed how much they paid for the phone. That's the way it was forever. When the first iPhone was released, suddenly the cost of two years service was added to the phone. But only for an iPhone. Phone X for $399 cost $399, iPhone for $399 cost $399 plus the 24 monthly payments on your contract.

But then comparisons got worse: One expensive phone sold for $480 with a 24 month, $30 per month contract or you got it for free with a 24 month, $50 per month contract. Had this been an iPhone, the price would have been $1200. But in this case, by paying $480 you saved $20 a month for 24 months, which means the phone was free! Free vs. iPhone for $1200! Well, which one would you buy?

Er, no. All the items are matters of opinion (and all but one a matter of artistic judgement). Anybody who fail's to see that is a retard.

Whereas:

Just like the fact that the i4 has a design flaw and people are happy with some ugly rubber on top of it
Is the rambling of a knucklehead with zero grasp of evidence.

While I agree to a certain extend, I don't know whether that qualifies as mindless iPhone bashing.
The iPhone runs exclusive with a single carrier in a few countries and they have horrible voice and data plans going along with the phone. I used to spend something like 20$/month on my phone bill, pre iPhone that is. Now the lowest rate available is almost 50$ and I don't need half of the package I have to buy (like free MMS/SMS) but have to pay it anyways.
So when people calculate the full price, most anger should be with the carrier and their ridiculous plans I guess, but since the iPhone runs exclusive a bit of that anger brushes off.

And finally, I think that the same thing is also true for other smartphones, that come with these premium plans. People have finally figured out, that they pay for their phone one way or the other. Don't think that is an iPhone exclusive.

Transformers 2 grossed almost 1 billion so it does make it a good movie.

Holy cow DMann, take that back. You take that back RIGHT NOW! :D (Only kidding BTW!)

I think everybody should move on. Come on, Apple have moved on, so we should move on too. Apple already provide a resolution. You can either get a free case, exchange the phone, or return it. If you don't even have the iPhone 4, then enjoy whatever phone you have. Case closed.

Microsoft sucks for many other reasons, for which its large market share is merely the outcome of some of them.

Apple about to release iOS 4.0.2 a.s.a.p.

People here still talk about a stupid web page  when Safari on their iPhone (with iOS 4) has a MAJOR MAJOR security hole – running apps from within Safari – and yet, nobody here even talks about that?

OMG Help! The skys falling down, the skys falling down!
You obviously fail to grasp the implications of this specific security flaw since now any website you visit can steal data from your iPhone. Call me stupid but I call that a MAJOR security flaw.

Have fun browsing now!

Well it works out for me. You can JB from your device as of right now... Pretty sweet...

Yes, that is one part of the deal, but there might be people interested in other data on your iPhone, and thus Apple has to close this loophole a.s.a.p.

As long as the videos were not doctored, I don't see why that would be the case.

It is so obvious the videos were doctored. Why didnt Steve himself lay out these handsets on the table at the press conference and do a live demo? Because he knew he wouldnt have been able to repeat what was on the videos.

My respect for Apple as a company has gone down. Dragging other companies into the mix and trying to shift blame to the whole industry to try and justify their own crappy antenna design is disgraceful. They should have just addressed their own antenna issue and left everybody else out of it.

If you insist - "you're stupid"

No security flaw, if you're referring to the auto fill one, that is now patched. If you're referring to jailbreaking via the new web site, you need your admin password. Anyone who has anything other than name, address and email addy on their card needs their brain checking anyway - who would have credit card details and bank information as part of their default vcard?

Utter rubbish. The reason being that this only happens in low/poor signal areas and the press conference was held in a location with exception signal.

Says who? I never got asked for a password...

I did... Also had full knowledge of what the site was going, had to physically slide to jailbreak, could view a download was in progress - you'd have to be pretty stupid to miss this lot happening as a malicious attack. My machine is now restored, no desire to jailbreak, but just wanted to see the process.
