Die Apple...

Die awfully, slowly and painfully.

Embarrassing and shameful way to do business.

Gee, you make a really good case that the Apple fans are irrational, whereas the Android types are so rational they rely on gypsy curses. Something about Apple really upsets your brain, hey?

They were unable to produce the death grip problem with the Droid X. Read again?

LOL so its ok if apple releases claims right on their website about other products, but if a site revolving around other products about Apple they are bad? Get out of here. You know whatever helps you sleep at night man.

Apple has been a very dirty company since around 2007.

Agreed. And the videos/tests were doctored too which is even worse.

Remember the $100 Apple Store credit on the original iPhone when Apple quickly changed selling models and lowered the price of the phone to the horror of 1st adopters and a wave of outrage began because it happened in just months?

That was the 1st time Apple really pssed me off.
And they seem to be doing such arrogant things more and more since.

You would think Steve Jobs' brush with liver failure and death would have mellowed him, but I almost wonder if he's building a cryogenic chamber thinking he'll live forever now. He doesn't seem to have mellowed at all. If anything, he's more combative then ever!

Apple pulled the videos from their site because they were obviously doctored, well obvious to anyone outside the cult of apple fanboys.

Well, my home is a very high reception area, so when I got the iPhone, I could not duplicate the bars problem at all. A week later, in the gym, I realized this was a weak signal area, and I managed to do the little demo. (The phone call I made to test continued, though.)

So admit it: the YouTube demos, and the vengeful gossip website's campaign, was "doctored," too! They had to have all been done in a weak reception area, or you would have seen nothing. In fact, you guys are all LIARS!

Two can play your silly game.

the iPhone 4's image and Apple's reputation have been seriously damaged, their credibility tarnished in front of our eyes.

Wrong. LOL

Or did you mean in front of the minority of trolls and regular contrarians on Apple fansites? In that case, yes. Not that it really matters.

I think when people are saying Apple "doctored" the videos, it gives the wrong implication that they somehow edited the videos. What I think people mean to say is Apple deliberalty manipulated the results.

Why are Apple sending out free cases again?

Because they value each complainers around $6. That's what the bumper costs to manufacture and to be sent out. They are buying you for that much, but more worryingly they are buying the public for that price too. "Listen, here is a bumper, so shut up or return your defective phones, we don't care."

Finally realized that lying to consumers is bad pr. The droid x video is a joke. It's a huge phone and the video makes it look tiny in giant hands. They have to cover the entire back to make it lose signal. Finger is showing up over the top of the phone. Not an easy thing to do on a phone that size. Then to show good coverage, they hold it normally which would be exactly the position sufficient to kill reception on the iPhone 4.

Of course not, but since you was referring to the iPhone antenna gap, and that can be bridged with a golden ring. Not too difficult either.

Does it drop the call, when I bridge the “sweet spot” it still will not drop a call on my i4. Do you have an i4, if so, it’s not to hard to move your ring finger a bit or put a case on it. It has not been a problem for most people and mine has worked awesome.
:apple::apple::apple:

The videos were doctored. E.g., n97 mini was in energy saving mode in which the antenna software behaves differently than under normal operation. Droid X was apparently not in 3G network in the first place.

I agree.

Apple didn't release any of the situational information about their supposed "tests". They didn't tell us where the tests were conducted, when the tests were conducted, etc. If they really wanted their videos to be believable, they should have gone to multiple locations around the world and conducted the tests with each phone at the same locations. Then, they should've told everyone where the locations were so their tests could be tried by others.

Their little "experiments" showed nothing of substance because in order for a hypothesis to be proven (all smartphones have the same the same attenuation/call drop problems that the iPhone 4 has), it has to able to be replicated without fail by someone other than Apple.

There are no big stories of people clammering to return their Droid Xs, n97s, HTC handsets, or Samsung handsets because of dropped calls because, quite frankly, those phones don't drop calls like the iPhone 4. Sure, those phones each have their weak points and problems, but for Apple to assert that those phones share the same weaknesses that the iPhone 4 has (dropping calls) is absurd.

Don't even get me started on the iPhone 4s problems with the proximity sensor. I'm waiting to see if the same PR "geniuses" that released the videos supposedly showing the competition's phones having signal attenuation problems will release another round of videos showing that other smartphones have proximity sensor problems, too.

I haven't had a single proximity sensor problem (or dropped call, I might add) on my Droid X since I purchased the phone almost three weeks ago. I had one or both of those problems with nearly all of the hundreds of calls I made in the three weeks I had the iPhone 4. That's the bottom line for me. And here I sit, able to make crystal clear calls without hanging up on people with my cheek while people are still posting on Apple's discussion boards wondering when Apple will release iOS 4.1--which might potentially fix the proximity sensor problem they're having--no guarantees.

And yet oddly you remain completely incapable of coming up with a more reliable metric. Still making stuff up, I see, while accusing others of doing the same.

Now, when are you going to apologise for your bad faith posting? I've been waiting over a week.

There's a line forming for KnightWRX?

Last I checked, only Apple sells "one size fits all". You are free to choose a smaller phone. There are many, even in the smartphone category.

Do you read or just reply on impulse? Check the size of other smart phones and report back. (BTW, I'm an iphone user and comfortable with its "one size fits all".)

Wrong. LOL

Or did you mean in front of the minority of trolls and regular contrarians on Apple fansites? In that case, yes. Not that it really matters.

Pretending that the iPhone 4 is perfect is one thing but claiming that Apple haven't been hurt by all the bad press surrounding the antenna is nieve. I don't care how many units they have sold to date, they would have sold more without the bad press. And don't forget how much the free case program is costing them.

Pointless for Apple to be talking about antenna attenuation when the iPhone 4, and only the iPhone 4, suffers from detuning.

How do i become a card carrying member of the "Cult of Apple"? I seek to devote my life to blindly following one man and one company. I know i need to do more but what else should i do?

Getting middle-aged and not having a career would be a good start. If you have an old Mac, that's even better. If you know anything about computers, you almost over-qualify.

Then you just stop using your brain and create a pathetic and simplistic image of what Steve Jobs and Apple Inc would think, do and want about all sorts of things in your little life. You may start to believe that a corporation's success is just as good as your own would be.

Finally, you register on a few tech blogs and off you go: you can call anybody a troll who don't share your freaky obsession with some computer equipment and gadgets. To create the impression that you are younger than you really are, use plenty of LOLs.

Wrong. LOL

Or did you mean in front of the minority of trolls and regular contrarians on Apple fansites? In that case, yes. Not that it really matters.

Oops...

You mean other smartphones like this 2.6" screen Xperia X10 Mini running Android :

Again, look at what is offered outside of Apple's world before spouting nonsense.

There's not much to argue about the situation. Apple designed the antenna at a convenient place for the user to cause interference. The problem is bad and they need to hurry and find a fix. Not a patch with excuses.

There's no problem with the phone at all.

How do you KNOW that both of these conditions are true? A little birdie told you? Or the Google fanboy distortion field?

Ummm it already been known Nokia behaves differently in energy saving mode. And the Driod not have 3G throws in more variables. The fact that apple screwed with the Nokia (aka told a 1/10 truth) leaves a lot to be wondered on the Droid. The fact that its been proven Apple very badly spun the truth on the Nokia makes all other video questionable at best.I would not put it past Apple if they figured out that they could make it signal drop easier if the Droid was not on 3G.

I could say you taking Apple ats its word does that mean you are an Apple fanboy and therefore can not think for your self. Besides Apple RDF puts everyone elses to shame. They could take dog crap, put it in a white box and sell it as iCrap. The fanboys would buy it and say that is the best thing ever.

"Proof" does not mean what you think it means.

Far more proof that it doesn't suffer from the issue apple tries to make others believe it does. More videos = more proof in this situation. Certainly more believable than the ONE video apple posted.

Really some people's posts here disgust me, I love my iPod Classic/iPod Nano and Shuffle, but just because I love those products doesn't mean everything the company does is right. For some reason some people here love their apple products so much they somehow think the company can't do wrong.

The only thing brand loyalty does is make you blind to potential better products out there. Quite frankly apple has become quite arrogant since they've got so high up the ladder.

These days they care more about lining their pockets than they do the customers. They've taken the cheapest route possible to "fix" the problem so they don't lose very much money. Now some of you are going to argue that if they were concerned about that they wouldn't do anything about it. No, if they didn't do anything about it class action lawsuits would be on their way.

As usual apple covers problems [cases] or "fixes" problems with firmware updates just so they don't have to do a recall. The product shouldn't have been released like it was in the first place, but since they've done it with so many other products they figured they could get away with it. Examples? iMac monitor issues, 2007 iPod Touch black problems, 2007 extremely buggy classic/nano, etc.

I didn't believe the kids when they said that Susie was sleeping with Johnny. I didn't believe them then, I don't believe them now, I don't care that Susie married Johnny, he's mine.

Why is everyone here saying they don't need it and won't probably use but will just claim one from Apple because it's free?

EVERYONE? Really? So not a single person has a problem with their iPhone 4 on here? I must have been reading a different forum for the past month or so. Your post has no credibility.
