It always makes me wonder why some people post on forums just to try and assert their internet dominance over someone with a different opinion...

a few of my buddies have the galaxy IV, I would love to see an iPhone with a screen as big as that. in my opinion, I think any larger would be too big for a phone.

I don't know how I feel about a curved screen though... Seems like it would feel awkward in my pocket, especially with a larger screen? I'm not sure...

I'd also like to see the calendar turned back into a usable tool, other than the garbage that iOS 7 turned it into.:)

I'm still convinced that 4" is the ideal screen size because this is what Apple told us before (iPhone 5 ad). I'll think otherwise only once Apple tells me to.

You seriously registered here to keep posting the one same post (with minimal variations in the wording)? That's kind of sad...

Apple: "We know what people want because we are saying so".

It was supposed to be "sarcastic" or something...

Am I the only one who things the Samsung model is too big for a smart phone? I find it awkward, don't really want an iPhone in that size.

I could see the iPhone eliminating more of its bezel, maybe using a software controlled dead-zone (so you still have somewhere to grip the phone without pressing icons etc., but can use the whole screen if you want).

Not sure what they should do with a the home button, but I wouldn't mind a much shorter, more rectangular button right on the edge.

They will need to make big changes to iOS and the way it scales on these bigger screens. If all they do is stretch the current screen to fit a bigger display (which is best for keeping current apps working on all iPhones with minimal effort) it might look bad on a 5.5" iPhone but perhaps people won't mind... I'm curious to see whether apple does actuall make a bigger iPhone. I think they will but I don't think there will be 2 new sizes. I imagine next year there will be a 5c will be the entry model, the 5s will be mid range and a new bigger iphone 6 with closer to 5" screen will be high end... We will see in about 10 months.

iOS 7 was built to handle different device sizes, so no they won't need to make big changes to iOS.

I really hope this story is false: the iPhone 5/C/S is at its maximum comfortably usable size.

Look, if Apple is desperate to make a clown phone for the phablet lovers, fine: but, please, pretty please with a cherry on top keep making a 3.5" or 4" flagship phone for the rest of us, who have a modicum of taste, don't want to try and stuff a Gordon Gekko clown phone into our jeans and god forbid the women amongst us who don't have huge hands...

I agree with you, and I don't even think they need to shrink the bezel. The iPhone is perfect as is (which is why it outsells all the huge screened Samsung phones put together: Samsung gets its big sales numbers from small screened el-cheapo phones.)

Oh, please, for the love of God, please, yes!

I can't wait to retire my Galaxy Note. It has been driving me nuts. This whole Android thing reminds me a lot of my old Windows days. You can customize the heck out of your device, which is interesting initially. After a while, after changing and rearranging widgets it gets boring you just want to settle for a device, which is fast, fluid and reliable.

Closing the web browser and starting the camera because the 3 old daughter is doing something funny and I want to record it: it takes fuxxxng ages on my Note at times. More than often I feel I want to smash that piece of crap onto a wall. Reading the Ars Technica Review about the Note 3 confirmed my desires that I don't want to have another Samsung again.

But I would like to have a phone with a screen size larger than 4" and I want iOS and no Android, Samsung TouchWiz nor any Google Services stuffed into my throat.

How does a curved screen help anyone with anything?
Curved, I agree, but a slight curve actually is far more useful than you think. I have tested the HTC 8x for two weeks (which, unfortunately, came with Windows 8) and i have to tell you the slight curving in the screen makes the whole phone a little more ergonomic than phones with a competing screen. I wouldn't go the Samsung rout of doing the 'round' screen, but I do feel there is potential there.

iPhone Tablet

Put voice capability on the iPad Mini for all the Phablet fanbois.

I would really prefer a SMALLER iPhone. Something small, durable, and easily pocketable.

What advantage does a curved screen confer?

It gives apple a scapegoat to blame being so miserably behind the times on screen size, as well as a new gimmick to sell an iPhone with otherwise minimally upgraded specs.

"The main problem with a large screen is it doesn't fit comfortably in the hand. At Apple, we've been searching for a solution that will allow us to bring a larger screen to the iPhone, without compromising the experience. Using a revolutionary new technique, we've been able to actually bend glass and create an iPhone that not only gives the user a larger screen, but also fits the contours of the hand. Nobody has been able to do this before. It's simply amazing." -Johny Ive, Sept 2014

Nice to see that the iPhone 5S front-page news are coming to an end. Let us now shift focus to the much more interesting iPhone 6!

It's evident that many people on MR has never truly used a device larger than the iPhones 4" display. The level of denial here is just insane, not to mention the "just get an iPad Mini"-responses. You people need to get your head out of your asses and realize that choice is favorable. 4" phones are not perfect for everyone, no matter what you may think, moreover an iPad Mini is not a phone - trust me, I have one, and wouldn't even dream of using it as such. Oh, and as long as the 4" iPhone stays - I can't see the problem with Apple offering two larger versions?

I had a Samsung GS4 this summer as well - a great phone, with a wonderful display. I never came to love Android as an OS, but the 5" screen was amazing.

As soon as Apple releases a 4.7" iPhone 6, I'll be first in line! I just hope they skip those curved-edges...

You are not the only one but you are in the minority. But don't worry prematurely. Maybe Apple will finally figure out how to produce and sell phones with different screen sizes.

They tried this with an early Nano version and it wasn't a big seller as I remember...

That would be a HUGE mistake. Unless they literally build to order, that would risk swamping Apple with inventory and potential desert hole filler.
