So, what are you saying is "wrong" here? It's not clear.

Greater than expected demand - is that what you think is wrong?

I think you may have pointed out something about tariffs - possibly, but it seems like you are saying that there is no "greater than expected demand" - and I was wondering how you know that, or even if that's what your assuming and implying.
He starts with his conclusion ('there is no greater demand') and then works his way backwards.

It isn't a surprise if the iPhone 11 opening weekend sales are much lower and most likely few times lower compared to the iPhone 8

was actually interested in the 11 pro max but the price in singapore is 2k for a 256gb model and 1.7k for a 64gb.

sorry but unless this phone can make me breakfast and wipe my ass, it is not worth 2k. not just the iphone, no phone is worth 2k.

for comparison, 2k can get me an asus zenbook with change for a 2019 ipad.

or a surface pro 6/7 with change for a 2019 ipad.

or a new pc with a 2070ti on AMD zen 2 with 16gb ram, 1tb ssd and a 144hz gaming monitor.

or 4 boxes of cuban cigars.

or 17 bottles of whisky.

or 13 bottles of quality cognac.

or stock up my entire bar.

or get drunk and die of liver failure in 1 night.

these would all be more viable choices than spending it all on a phone.

....and all of the above, either they won't fit in your pocket or they don't send an email.

Still waiting for my iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB Space Grey ordered on launch day so this news doesn't come as a huge surprise to me.

Patience is a virtue, apparently...

Some of the customers are looking forward to the iPhone Mini 12 and it seems plausible that virtually every Apple product has a ”Mini” on the lineup.
Apple sells models with different screen sizes in its MBP, iMac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch lines. However, only one of them has a 'Mini' label.

Some of the people that queue up at the Apple store told me iPhone 11 isn't worth upgrading due to lack of innovation.
So they queue up just for fun?

And yet the company is worth about $1T. Go figure. It’s always good to see naysayers eat crow when they get it wrong consistently.

So? Maybe it would be worth $2T if Steve was still around.

I guess you also think McDonalds makes the best food.

Wrong !

The 15% iPhone Tariff hits on Dec 15th, & Apple needs to get as many 2019 iPhones as possible into the Sales Channel BEFORE then !!!

The units need to clear customs & NOT be in a Warehouse !

Two are the two main criteria, else they will get hit with the 15% tariff (starting on Dec 15th).

NOT a single so-called Pro Stock Analyst who covers AAPL for a living has yet picked up on this, NOR even a single Regular on CNBC !

A Fool & his Money are soon parted !

Yeah, they keep pushing and delay trade war talks and tariff. For all you know they may push and delay tariff again!

Where did you order from? I ordered mine (exact model as yours) from AT&T on 09/21 (with a $450 discount!) and received it on 09/24!

But it is true that Android is cheaper and as good as IPhones. By that logic I'd say wait for the newer Android devices, But!!! if you want quality, no wonder all people are standing in line for that new IPhone 11, it is just as good as Android devices but slightly more expensive (compared to Samsung at least) and has more advanced features. I think Apple needs to increase production to meet the demand. Not everyone is willing to wait for the IPhone 11s. By definition, true ;)

Weird, huh. I heard hundreds of voices shouting how there was nothing new about the then-upcoming iPhone except a horrible camera bump, and Apple would only have to make a dozen of them, because nobody would buy it. It's almost as if the "Apple is horrible and doomed" contingent don't know what they're talking about.

What is with the exaggerated hyperbole?

If we want to go there, maybe Apple might have been worth a lot less had Steve Jobs stayed around and resisted releasing a larger phone?

Instead, let's focus on what is right in front of us. Apple has successfully navigated a shift in market trend where the high-end smartphone segment is rapidly maturing. They have moved from simply selling iPhones, to selling to people with iPhones, by building up an impressive ecosystem around the iPhone that has helped to (somewhat) offset declining iPhone sales, while managing to maintain their ASPs and hardware margins.

It's quite clever now that you think about it. Instead of going with that the critics claimed and releasing cheaper iPhones, Apple instead introduced measures like the upgrade programme and offered attractive trade-in values, which allowed customers to offset the cost of new iPhones, while supplying Apple with a steady stream of 2nd-hand iPhones which they can refurbish to resell in the grey market.

The Apple Watch and AirPods are doing great. Their services pull double duty, both in terms of an auxiliary source of revenue and in enhancing ecosystem stickiness.

And I do like Macdonalds. Just had it for dinner. I would say the quality of the food is pretty good relative to what I pay for it.

I'm in the UK. Perhaps my choice of phone and the time I ordered it just worked against me. Perhaps I should've ordered from my mobile phone supplier instead of Apple?

I wasn't able to order bang on the pre-orders starting - got there a couple of hours in. Confirmation email said it would be shipped between 30 Sept and 7 Oct, but order status later changed to 16 - 22 Oct.

Looking forward to it, as I'm currently using an iPhone 6s Plus. Has given me 4 years of service, but expecting that I'll notice a massive improvement... if the new phone ever gets here! 🙄

Regulars on CNBC are wrong all the time, so that would confirm nothing.

AAPL has objectively performed well since Tim Cook took over, outperforming the broader market. If any “fool” bought AAPL and held it, they have done very well.

The fools sold AAPL.

my local Apple store still has people lining up to get one
Last week, people were still placed on reservations. If you don’t have one, then there’s no chance of getting an 11 series. Most configurations of 64GB, 128GB and even 256GB were sold out, aside from in-store pickups. Even some in-store pickups were turned down because they didn’t have enough in stock! Luckily I managed just fine after returning the Pro for the Pro Max.
