Call me crazy, but I want them to sell well. I want this phone to be a hit, underwhelming or not. I say this is good news no matter what you may personally think of the phone.

For me, as stated before, I took a rare year off from upgrading. Loving my XR, which I only got in March, and am leaning more towards upgrading to a new iPad Pro if rumors are correct and it gets a similar camera setup to the 11. For me, I'd rather have the better camera on my iPad. Wild, I know, but true. I'm just not running around taking fancy pics on my iPhone all day. When I'm home, I use my iPad, and would love to have the better camera on the device I use more at home. Will definitely upgrade next year to whatever is released, but it was nice to sit this one out.

I say, let's just embrace the good news that the phones are selling well!

Was at the Apple Store helping my dad get a new battery for his iPhone 6. (He is in Hospice and does not need a new phone; barely uses the one he has now.) Spoke the tech and he stated the iPhone 11s are the best selling since the 6. (He also pulled out his iPhone Pro to share.)

That's impossible. Apple is doomed, remember?

too much money to spend and make worse product ever in a history. apple isnt doomed because they have cash to fail again, and again. unfortunately a customer is the one who pays it finally. too much loyal sheeps buying crap. any other company would have felt, but apple has a money and it is an american company. being as an american company was the way to survive in the first place - even a president used veto to protect apple when lost a case - if it was a company from somehwere else, there wouldnt be loyality and there wouldnt be apple today.

without the money they have, apple would have been doomed

I recently purchased the I phone 11 Pro Max 512GB and traded in my I phone XS max and it was a great purchase.

The tariffs haven't come out of the blue. It's been known for a long time. They wouldn't have waited until now, several weeks after launch, to up production, if what you are suggesting was true.

Edit: I too am seeing a lot of people lined up at the stores here to get one. Frankly, I'm quite surprised. All I was hearing was what a dud this year would be. Guess thats what I get when I come on MacRumors and read all the negativity and believe some of it.

I believe Tariffs are playing a role. However, my take is that people are anticipating a fairly noticeable price increase with the 2020 iPhones. They are choosing to upgrade now at these price points. Personally I don’t believe the majority of users are all that concerned with 5G. You’ll always have the power users in these forums screaming about it but for the typical user it’s small potatoes. Let alone the fact that 5G is at least 2-3 years away at the earliest as a technology accessible to the masses. There are still tremendous divides over standards.

I’ve been surprised at the number of 5.8” Pros going out of my local brick and mortar. While the Max is popular with many I’m not surprised at the report of downward adjustments after the initial 30 days. I definitely see different choices this launch with the Pro in my area. As expected the vast majority moving out the door are 11’s.

Now maybe I’m giving consumers too much credit for looking down the road, however that’s my opinion. Tariffs and the significant cost increases in production with the 2020 iPhone will be too great for Apple to absorb through services growth alone. :apple:

I think everyone assumes all people upgrading are on the most recent phones or something. If you have an xs max and aren’t super impressed by the 11, all I got to say is: well duh!! But for those with a 7 or older, this is one hell of an upgrade

I had an 8 and was VERY happy with it. Wanting to take better pictures of my kids is what got me to upgrade to an 11. I am amazed how great the camera is, at least over an 8. Twice, I have returned a new iPhone with buyers remorse - but definitely not this time. I do miss the fingerprint scan though.

So? Maybe it would be worth $2T if Steve was still around.

I guess you also think McDonalds makes the best food.
Or maybe Apple would be worth $500 million, sales would be lousy and he would have gotten the product line up wrong, if Steve was still around.

Macdonalds, the last time I looked wasn’t worth $1T(give or take).

McDonalds is worth about $200 billion by selling burgers that cost about 0.1% the price of an iPhone. So they're outperforming Apple by about 200 times.

Nothing like calling the customers idiots for buying a product you personally don’t like. ( well you called them loyal sheep)While you’re entitled to your opinion, it may be hundreds of millions of iPhone 11 customers don’t agree with you.

And worth 5 times less. Macdonalds will get to $1T never.

It’s a shame people don’t understand what innovation means. Lol.
Sadly, science agrees. By definition, the Apple innovation is losing to the amazing tech other companys do it. But!! Apple is winning in user xperience, by definition that means they are the consumer's best choice ;)

(Sarcasm) Who would have thought a price cut between the extremely similar XR and 11 would have caused an increase in sales?

$699 is a good price for the 11. Apple has been greedy over the last few years in their pricing, particularly as Android devices have caught up both in terms of capability and usability. They are finally realizing they are going to have to grab market share from their competitors if they are going to grow in hardware sales, and they are going to have to be competitive on price to do so.

My friend who recently bought a Samsung Note 10+ is sick of it. Hates it. lol. He just traded it for a new iPhone 11 Pro. Live and learn. The Note looks cool but there's really nothing like the Apple ecosystem.
Yeah it’s hard ecosystem to leave no matter how good the Samsung hardware is

I can’t figure out why so many on this thread are upset that iPhone Pro is so successful (And rightfully so). Is it because they don’t want to see Apple succeed or is this just the typical MacRumors rhetoric?

Upgraded from an iPhone 7 to 11 pro and the camera is definitely what sold me and continues so. FaceID is fantastic—I like it a lot more than I thought I would. My main complaint is not being able to adjust the size of icons. Growing text is easy enough but overall I’d like to just make everything a little bigger. It also weighs more than a 7 that’s especially noticeable at times when it’s weighing down a pocket. oh and wireless charging is a nifty part of the upgrade too!

Most of the iPhone 6,6s,7 buyer isn't looking forward to replacing its device with a notch screen.
So is this like today’s equivalent to “iOS 6 or death” - no one will willingly upgrade to iOS 7 - “I’m sticking with iOS 6 for another year” ... ?
