So where would the Verizon logo go on this mythical CDMA iPhone?
Like China?
It's coming in Jan., Apple has finally got the upper hand in negotiations and it's a win win for both companies now. A lot has changed in four years and it would be ridiculous to think iPhone wouldn't eventually go to the highest rated provider in the U.S.
This is one reason both Verizon w. Droid X and AT&T are locking people into contracts with early upgrades.
Between the increased early termination fee, and AT&T moving up people's eligibility dates for the iPhone 4 for no apparent reason, who didn't see this coming? It's good news though, if true. I have a few friends in the Virginia/DC area who would love the iPhone, but AT&T's coverage is so poor up there, they have to stick with Verizon.
I don't think there will be a Verizon iPhone before the summer of 2012 summer 2011 at the earliest...scratch that...there won't ever be a Verizon iPhone

Or maybe these chips are for iPads and not iPhones.
I like ATT's tiered data plan too much to go back to $100 cellphone bills on Verizon.
LTE/CDMA Iphone will be out first then the Ipad. They have both been testing for months.
Not to worry, a good bet is Verizon would opt for same type of service plans to handle the increased traffic. It's been hinted at for a couple of months now even without Apple adding an iPhone to the mix.

No, not at all.
AT&T U.S. exclusivity only meaning Apple can sell their phone to other carriers.
That or apple could do what RIM has done on Verizon. All of RIM newer blackberries released on CMDA networks are world phones. That means they still the phones still support the GSM bands and Sim cards if needed. Just as long as it is in the US the GSM antennas are not power up.Since CDMA phones typically lock one into USA only travel, many who want a world coverage phone will likely stick with AT&T. Verizon has a too limited coverage for our family's use, unless the Vz phone includes both CDMA and GSM as a few others do.
I think we may see a move to t-mobile in the fall or at least at the same time as Vz.

A long time ago, verizon did a number on us (do not recall the detais), and it was so bad, that to this day, I still make sure that verizon will never, ever get a dime from me. Even my work cell is not on this carrier.
So, have at it. When every one leaves AT&T for verizon, then AT&T service will be that much better.
They make numerous CDMA only blackberries. Only some are world phones. Apple isn't sacrificing space.
