Could you elaborate why? I'm just curious what issues you see with iOS 9 that I'm not aware of.

I'm waiting a bit in hopes that they fix the TMobile specific problems. iMessage choosing a random phone number and refusing to properly activate, and Wifi Calling failing to activate as well.

Would have been faster without the slide to upgrade bricking. I guess at that point however the phone is already on ios9, just bricked.

Still working on one for a family member, it's been 2 days of working with Apple.

I didn't expect this but News is the best app Apple has ever released for iOS. On my phone iOS 9 does not have much to offer over 8, but on my iPad, I'm using News almost 2 hours a day now.

Updated two iPhone 6 Plus and two iPads, air and air 2 all to iOS 9. Did over the cloud first hour. All working fine. Am really loving content (ad) blockers. About time we users can retaliate for the tracking and overly obnostious pop up, page over, ads. Google and other trackers brought it apron themselves. The load speed is phenomenal now.

For the sites and companies that say I owe them for viewing their content. I will consider your argument after I receive my check for excessive use of my bandwidth cost of data I had to buy to download your extra trackers. Then after three years of reduced and non intrusive ads, I will consider turning off ad blockers on a site by site basis.

Or that often the update cripples an older device forcing an upgrade in hardware by the user.

Huh? Wouldn't that slow the upgrade rate from people not wanting the new version?

I haven't noticed any lag on my iPhone 6. In fact, my initial reaction was that performance is better with iOS 9.

Benchmarks show that there are actual performance improvements, at least in the areas benchmarked :)

Well, been wishing for iOS8 to get of my devices for about a year now so why wait any longer? :)

I never update to a new OS until at least version .02 or .03. There are always some sort of bugs with a brand new iOS. People at work who are always quick to upgrade keep saying they should have listened to me...

Most people do not care about versions. They are tapping any APP has red number on its shoulder.

Damn straight...

Cannot wait for 9.0.1 to iron out some of the hiccups.

I have a launch day 6 (128GB with only 70GB used) and the interface is glitchy to say the least. There are hangs and stutter animation, my mail app keeps telling me I have mail from the home screen icon notification even inside of the mail app it states I have one email in ALL MAILBOXES but the individual accounts show nothing below it, Safari has crashed on me more than in the past and hangs at times for no reason (refreshing the page causes the page to load successfully the second time. All of these things never occurred in iOS8 for me.

It's running nice and fast on my iPhone 6, and my iPad Air is running 9.1 equally well. Yeah, probably not necessary right now, but I'm on the beta track with that and will get beta updates OTA. Maybe some will have something new for old hardware :)

The only problem I had was iCloud being a dick. I backed up my phone to iCloud, but should have used iTunes. After watching it make a backup, space going 800MB on iCloud, and verifying that the backup was there, I restored the phone with 9.0 GM (this was a week before official release). On booting up I wanted to restore from iCloud, and there was nothing. 100% of the iCloud storage space was free. Gee, thanks, Apple! I'll remember to take iTunes backups hereafter. Fortunately it was also a new phone.

I had the same problem. All of my backups disappeared and iCloud refused to work properly for the whole day that I updated.

Your constant and baffling need to constantly undermine anyone who dares have issue with anything Apple does is only heightened by your constant desire to minimize obvious and apparent issues. Get out of this distortion field its troubling to see adults behave like this. To say io9 is trouble-free is preposterous. It shows me any lack of credibility for any comments you make.
sorry that i dindt experience lag??? next time ill add some bug in my comment soo you believe me lol.... im just commeting my experience.. and if you think trolls dont come here to troll ok......

I installed iOS 9 first day on an iPhone 5C and an iPad Air 1. The single performance degradation I consciously notice is that searching from the safari address bar has a serious lag during the first few characters (while it preloads some hits or something, I don't know, but it's pretty terrible).

Otherwise, my devices seem to run just as well as they did in iOS 8, which says a lot. So if you're already on iOS 8, you really might as well update to iOS 9. It's not going to make your devices noticeably slower and obsolete the way previous iOS updates tended to do. If you're still on iOS 6 or 7 and opted not to update because you didn't want to lose performance, you still have a legitimate decision to make.

My 4S does everything it did before.
No slowdown etc., but I did buy the biggest version at the time 64GB
and know when to close apps.

On a side note: I dropped my 4S into a vat of alcohol by accident, pulled it out within say 10 seconds, put it into a bag of silica and let it dry for 24 hours.
It works just fine ,except for some dark screen spots where I think the alcohol dissolved the glue of the display.
Amazing performance /built by Apple.
Mentioning this to let everybody know when you iPhone get water logged , pull it out asap and switch it off if you can (I didn't) then silica to dry it well.

Was going to sell it, but now I am keeping it as a back up. Only worth $ 5 on Gazelle in that condition.

While i too installed it on day one. I still wonder what the major version number change was for. The switch app screen is different but i can't say i like it better. On my iPhone 6 i find it too sensitive i often have trouble closing the right application.

And what about the changes to Siri? In the german language mode Siri still sounds consideribly worse than english speaking Siri.
Asking Siri about german football results? She has no clue about it. Telling Siri to play even a famous classic song from Apple Music? She will not understand a single english titled song at all and tries to interpret any english as some meaningless german gibberish.

When i asked her to play music from "Kaiser Chiefs" she told me she couldn't find anything from "Kaiser Cheese".
o_O

At least the new font is better. But that should've been there since iOS 8.0.1.

Same here with Siri not understanding a thing.
Must be our German accents?
Mine is not very pronounced, but the things she answers or does when I say: Play Fear of the dark" are downright funny AND different each time.
Gave up on Siri long tim ago. Trying this toy on and off.
