Do you ever come outside the US?
Maybe it's a European/Netherlands problem? iPhone ownership is bigger in Asia than even the US.
Do you ever come outside the US?
but you´d be doing it through regular text messages, which are extremely expensive in most places.
How do you unlock now? I use swipe to unlock quite often. I know I can use my fingerprints but I do a lot of working with my hands and get a lot of scrapes and often have bandages.Updating now. 298.5 MB moving from Beta 4 on a 6S.
After finally eliminating the horrible battery draw issues I was having by performing a fresh install instead of OTA update from 9.3.3, the only thing I'm really not loving is the loss of "Swipe to Unlock" from the lock screen. Because of the way I use my phone, I can't always unlock with Touch ID, so swiping left and then tapping in my passcode has become second nature. Now when I swipe left, however, it opens up the camera instead and I have to stop and think about how to unlock now. This is needlessly frustrating and I wish Apple would just go back to swiping up from the left corner to open the Camera app, and swiping left to unlock with passcode. Why they felt this needed to be changed is beyond me, but there it is.
I like iMessages, the only problem I have here is that 9 out of 10 people are on Android. Even friends who have an iPhone use whatsapp. Only becease they can speak to the rest of the country.
Using the data plan for messaging is way less expensive than buying SMS plans. Each country is different, but the norm for most people (not just the US/UK or whatever) is that SMS are just not worth it. Which is why whatsapp is so popular all over the world.
Saying everyone with an iphone uses iMessage is just simply not true.
It's kind of funny for some of you to argue that Apple doesn't need to make iMessage good just because everyone else use whatsapp/fb messenger.
There is absolutely no reason why multiple messaging platforms cannot co-exist. The majority of the iPhone and even Android users around here use at least 3 messaging apps on a daily basis - FB messenger, Whatsapp, Line and of course iMessage among iPhone-using friends who look down on Android users.
Certainly not in Denmark. Most people I know have iPhones and I use iMessage with those. If they don't have iPhones iMessage will send them a text which is included for free in all subscriptions here. This is not even remotely true. In the US, yes, but abroad, WhatsApp is everything.
It's only a matter of months and whatsapp will do the same as the to be introduced iMessage. Facebook owns whatsapp. Don't get me wrong. I do like iMessage. But if iMessage can't cummunicate with my friends I've to use alternatives. Whatsapp does a lot more then iMessage. You can make group chats and is faster with sending files then iMessage too.
As I said before... When you don't live in the US 9 out of 10 users are on android. Propably even more. So as much as I like messages it's useless unless you'll use it as sms.
Get new friends!Very nice this new iMessage. I've only one problem... I know less and less people with iPhones... So who can I send to
Maybe nice when you live in the US. But over here you have to look hard. Most are walking with Galaxy S7 edge![]()
Why don't you just turn off Keyboard sounds in settings? I have since my first iPhone 3G because that click click click click sound while typing drove me nuts. Can we please have the typing sound changed back to the original? For the love of God, the new sound sounds like a guy in wet socks walking on wet cardboard. Hideous. Makes me mute the phone with every keypress.
I can only hope.Did Apple re-hire Scott Forstall?
Uh, the problem with the battery case is with Dev Beta 4. Dev Beta 5 fixes the problem, not iOS 10.
Sigh, I don't have any problems Apple updating iMessages, I even like iMessage. For me it just isn't that usefull see other postings why. But I'm happy it is for you and all others using itAnd why can't Apple update iMessage while you still use WhatsApp?
No they're not. There are many countries where Apple has a lot more than a 10% market share.
But I don't see why you have a problem with Apple updating iMessages just because you don't use it.
