Installed 3.0c as soon as it came out. I can tell a huge difference in performance. stable and fast so far. I installed as an upgrade not as a new phone from 3.0b. Very good progress so far!

nice one, apple.

but let's see about the speed in a week. i usually don't switch off my iphone and the last betas got sluggish after a few days.

ipod app could use some launch speed improvement, though.

:confused:Store is still store. :(

I don't get why they release a seed that they know has a bug in and say they are going to fix it later, why not just fix it then release the seed.

1. Because that would take time and delay the beta version.

2. Because the target audience (developers writing apps using 3.0 features) are not affected. The only ones affected are the non-developers who try to install the beta on their iPhones for a cheap thrill, that is people who shouldn't even have the beta. If none of the applications from the Appstore will work anymore, maybe that stops them.

And they would care why? Does it matter how many people have 3.0 installed on their iPhones to Apple?

What about the developers who actually use the device as their phone and test 3.0 on it? Who can't afford to have two devices, one for dedicated testing and one for everyday use?

I am a developer and I can confirm that this build works with ALL apps purchased on the app store that worked in the previous builds of 3.0, as well as my test apps that I compiled for the previous 3.0 beta builds.

I'm not sure which apps Apple means don't work in this build. Maybe developer's test versions of apps that were compiled pre-3.0.

Thank you. Is there anyone that is saying any different? There seems to be some serious confusion on this point.

I think the confusion comes from something Apple released saying " "Applications targeting devices prior to iPhone OS 3.0 beta cannot be tested in this seed."

I think what they mean is apps compiled in Xcode with the target set to iPhone OS 2.x won't work, but app apps purchased from the app store work fine (well.. with the same bugs as the previous 3.0 release in certain apps).

Oh ok, I think that clarifies things really well. So basically, if you're developing an app, you'll just have to set it for 3.0 instead of 2.x to have it properly be tested?

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/7A259g Safari/525.20)

Awww darn! I put my MacBook Air to sleep. Looks like I will just download tomorrow evening.
Is this release pleasable and much more stable? Any news about MMS or Youtube?
