exactly, I've learned a bit regarding updating over the years... I will update when it's actually needed for some reason... (10.9.5 & 7.1 will stay around for quite a while in my home, I think.)
My 27 iMac suffered a similar fate after installing the new os. The spinning beach ball of death, once a nonexistent presence in my life, has now become a more common sight than the actual cursor itself. Tabbed browsing now requires a whole new level of patience.
Sad to see Apple trying to force hardware upgrades by introducing software upgrades that essentially disregard the performance capabilities of the previous generation of products. Between bouncing icons and unwelcome pop-up reminders that pester me literally daily, it's getting real old telling Apple to get off my back. I paid for my product, let me use it as I wish.
Apple needs to be reminded, yet again, that not everyone can afford (or even cares to) buy every single new spec upgrade they burp out.. but hey, Im sure their shareholders are happy and thats obviously what truly matters to them.
