I can't wait to hear what Tim is going to say
today at apple, we are thrill to announce a new iPhone
is the same iphone we launch in 2018
but this one comes in green, blue or yellow

we also have the same overpriced old obsolete macs
nothing different on the iPads

this man is incredible, he is killing apple

man I really hope that they announce a new iMac and the most waited Mac Pro
I think this is the beginning of the end for apple
they really have to get rid of Tim

maybe they will come out with a beta car, since they are so desperate
look I put my iwatch together with the iglasses and when i drive the icar
I look like an idiot

Not familiar with how Hollyweird works ?

Actors from various new shows always go to "Premiers" or media junkets..

It's in probably every actors contracts in the business and "It's Show Time" is considered one of those.

I've worked for Hollywood for 15+ years (behind the cameras, far away from said celebrities, thankfully). It just saddens me that that disgusting little world is where Apple pitches its tent nowadays.

Lol, the new Pro? Would you ever invest for your business in über expensive hardware while not knowing its future proof and after a few months finding out there are faster solutions available for a fraction of the price Apple is offering. I can already predict with 99,9 % guarantee that the new Mac Pro won’t sell. Even if it’s going to be an awesome machine. That’s because Apple already alienated their core customers.
Unless someone needs to run software that is exclusively only available on the Mac, it is probably not a good idea to buy the Mac Pro.

I love all these comments of people angry at Apple about an event that hasn’t happened yet.
yes you are right
let's just wait until the event is over
then maybe they won't be angry anymore
but maybe they might be disappointed
really hope I'm wrong

putting the jokes aside
I be waiting for years for a new Mac Pro

have you ever consider that they might have a right to be upset
because of what apple been doing lately

I too could care less about News Services or Streaming Entertainment Shows. Apple has lost it’s focus and is about to lose its loyal customer base if it continues to produce non-hardware endeavors. We, the loyal customer base, want that next ‘gotta have it’ hardware device. We want that innovative product that leaves the rest of the IT world in the dust. We want those regular and timely hardware updates to the existing lineup. We want Apple to stop the development of products and services that only seem to enrich the coffers of a greedy corporation while letting the once innovative hardware fall further behind and become ancient trinkets... I for one will not partake in any of these streaming offerings..

Gawd I miss the days when self-entitled whiners were fewer in number here.
Let me paraphrase "I'm ****** that I'm not getting something aimed exactly at me every two months at the price that I can afford to blow my money on. Instead they keep releasing services and stuff that doesn't fit the description of what I want and when I want it. So I'm angry. Angry as. So I'm going to moan and and belittle the products and complain that the leadership isn't filling my hand with life changing products that I am expecting to fulfill the emptiness of my soul, at a price I can afford".

Meanwhile...

Holy ****, it's really been 5 years already since the last Mac Pro?

Dang it. Guess Phil Schiller is trying really hard to show off his butt...

Just look at the sentiment here and it's getting worse every keynote. I know MR members are not just average Apple users and their emotions about Apple are much more intense (I'm feeling it too), but do you remember the times when there was just one / two "haters" on a page and other people were excited?

And yet it was so simple to continue to make great products: simple product line, the best possible hardware for a reasonable price (not cheap, but worth every penny).

Get rid of the old Air and the M-MacBook. Put the new Air down to £899 or whatever. iPhone - have 3 models. 4 or so inch phone. Have the plus and Max models. Call them iPhone, iPhone plus, iPhone max. Etc etc. Release good updates every year. Buying a Mac is so confusing now.

Clearly the focus of this event will be Apple's streaming service which launches later in the year.

Apple are a bit late to the party if they will launch it as a stand-alone subscription. It would make far more sense for Apple to release one subscription that gives access to both Apple Music AND the streaming service.

This is obviously the right way to go - if a little bit to late. Everything will eventually be dominated by services. Talk to people arround you or look at Apples earnings rapport. This is the future wether you like it or not.

If designed and prices correct, Apple could offer an amazing complete package with: music, video and news/magazines, apps under one subscription.

And of course! Also, please show the new AirPods, AirPower and iMac - and why not something HomePod related to go with the new Apple TV and service :)

I genuinly don't understand the push for paid news. There's a multitude of great news apps already out there & millions of independant news websites, all optimised for mobile use. There's a few major newspapers behind paywalls now, but all that means is the vast majority of people will choose to ignore them. Why would anyone want to pay for news? It's beyond me & certainly not the way forward for the media.

Are Marvel movies for kids? Are Star Wars movies for kids? If when you think of Disney, you only think of Mickey Mouse, Toy Story and the Lion King, you need to update your knowledge.

The Disney model would work nicely for Apple. Plenty of excellent content that doesn’t have to get into brutal violence and sex scenes.
They can be enjoyed by people of all ages but of course Marvel and Star Wars are aimed at kids (unless you think comics and toys are a prestige adult market)

The family-friendly approach with shows that are so politically correct so that they do not cause offence to anyone is my idea of hell.

We must wonder if shows like '24' would ever get commissioned in 2019 as people would claim they were Islamophobic & too violent with the torture scenes.

For me personally it’s more about the magazines. If I can get access to magazines all arround the world in an easy and beautiful way, I would be really happy. Add the function to order a physical version on the fly and I’m in love!
Concerning the news I often discuss with my friends about how you best keep up with the daily news arround the world. I don’t know if it’s ignorance, lake of ability to find a good channel or from not living in the US (the News-app still isn’t working where I live), but right now Twitter is dominating and almost the only fast and easy source for news.
The ability to get everything under one umbrella would be lovely - you really can’t complain about a feature or company that try to make news more accessible.

So, I pay $15 a month for Apple Music for a family subscription. $9.99 a month for iCloud Storage. Around $15 a month for Netflix. Amazon Prime is over $100 a year. Then cable and cell phone service. Now I have to pay another $9.99 a month for News and who knows what for the video service.

I tap out.

Why would you possibly have Netflix, Amazon Prime AND cable?

That's like grocery shopping twice a day, throwing out 90% of the food uneaten and the complaining about how groceries are too expensive.

Apple today sent out invites for a media event that will be held on Monday, March 25 at the Steve Jobs Theater on the Apple Park Campus. As with most Apple events, it will start at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time or 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

The event features the tagline "It's Show Time," which is in line with rumors suggesting it will focus on services rather than hardware. Apple is expected to use the event to unveil its rumored Apple News service and a streaming TV service.

The Apple News service will add paid subscription options to Apple News, allowing Apple customers unlimited access to magazines and paywalled content from sites like The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, and The New York Times for a $9.99 per month fee.

It's not yet clear which news sites will be included, as Apple is said to be still negotiating financial terms with some news sites. Apple has asked for 50 percent of the revenue from the service. Magazines are on board with the fee, but news sites with independent revenue streams from their own subscribers are reluctant to jump on board.

As for the TV service, Apple is planning an announcement, but an actual launch is months off. Apple has more than two dozen original TV shows in the works, many of which have been cast, that will eventually debut through the streaming service.

Major stars that include Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Garner, and Steve Carell, all of whom have roles in Apple shows, have been invited to attend the event.

There are multiple hardware products that are rumored for a spring launch, but so far, rumors have indicated that these devices will not be announced at the event. Instead, we could see these new products unveiled via press release right around the time of the event.

The iPad mini 5, seventh-generation iPad, AirPower, updated AirPods, and a seventh-generation iPod touch are all in the works and will be coming soon, but none of these updates are major enough to warrant time on stage so it makes some sense for them to debut more quietly.

It's still possible, of course, that the products we're expecting in the spring will see some stage time, despite rumors.

According to an announcement posted on the main Apple website and the Events website, Apple will livestream the "It's Show Time" event on its website and through the events app on the Apple TV.

Following the event, Apple will likely release the iOS 12.2 update that's currently being beta tested in order to make the Apple News subscription service available. Signs of a subscription service have already been spotted in the update, suggesting Apple is planning for a post-event iOS 12.2 release.

That's why we have choices.

Not everyone is going to enjoy family-friendly shows, just as not everyone necessarily enjoys shows like 24.

I wonder if Apple is trying to cast as wide a net as they can with content that has a larger appeal, especially if Apple intends to make them freely available in the TV app (which means it needs to be safe for anyone with an iOS device or Mac, including children). Plus, these would be shows that they are able to screen in their own Apple Stores, unlike more edgy content like say, Game of Thrones, which would be subject to more restrictions.

With all the upcoming services they should introduce a bundled price for Tv, news, music and iCloud. Eg 19.99 and have Access to everything with 1TB iCloud .
I would SO be down for this.
Aber ob das dann (insbesondere News und TV) auch in die deutschsprachigen Gefilde kommt? LG aus Österreich

Yes, someone can complain, because Apple would be curating the news. Where does it stop? Left/right? Someone always finds something to complain ;)

Haha true - that is the internet! Just make sure to educate yourself enough to know the difference ;)
