A modern OS be dammed! These ads PROVE that We NEED more engineers working solely on memoji’s. Just slap thinner fonts on the OS with tackier colors so that 10 year old iOS thing so it can keep working on antique iPhones.

This.

Thinner fonts, thinner macbooks, fewer ports/jacks, bare-minimum non-obvious tappable text in place of obvious "press me" buttons, minimal context-providing borders/zones throughout....AAPL is all about giving less in the guise of giving more. RIP the Apple that made products that just seemed to work.

I'm not even going to read the comments. This forum is populated by the most negative, stuck up people who somehow think that the world revolves around them and their tastes exclusively.

Guess what, I'm 39, I'm not the target market for these ads but I can recognize how they're fun to a younger generation who absolutely loves this kind of stuff.

You clearly missed his point or joined the bandwagon, he meant that instead of Apple investing money into improving their awful lately designs such as problematic keyboards, they choose to waste it with Emoji Videos.
Ah, right. They only had enough money for these short videos.

With all the things Apple could be working on these days you'd think they will put a hold on this sort of stuff and apply resources where it's more needed. Then come back to this kind of thing. I don't know, just seems silly.

It seems like since their latest "Innovations" are packed with issues.
The watch is packed with issues? AirPods? iPhones?

Sure their keyboards have caused some people some headaches, which I agree is unacceptable, but take a step back and look at the big picture.

Yeah, lets get the marketing and graphic design departments reassigned to hardware and software engineering! That'll do it!

and you say sales are falling? I'm sure this will turn iPhone sales right around.

good grief. (hey, that's what I need, a charlie brown emoji)

I don't even know why I bother reading the comments anymore. Even one of the staff members joined in. It's just an echo chamber of negativity.

Steve: "Do you know how we scroll through these songs, just use fingers. Boom!"
People: Wow!! Clap. clap.
Steve: "Now to zoom in picture, just pinch your fingers and use this gesture. Boom!"
People: "Wow, future has began"

Near future
Tim: Here are new Memojis. Now f**k off.

TF Apple has become.

You seem to be confused. It's not an either/or/instead.

You apparently believe that there was an Apple meeting of upper level management a couple months ago, and a question was posed, such as: "We have an extra $250,000 available to spend. We're cashed strapped, so should we invest it into keyboard development, or video emojis? We can't do both."

Apple developing Emoji videos does not take away from Apple's development, $ or resources, in hardware. You might not be aware that Apple has enough money, and different teams, to do both.

I'm lukewarm about these things too, but it's not like the guys going these Memoji are sucking vital resources from Apple. It's just that once this technology was in place, it became a simple matter for the artists already in place to make more.
