I bought the pink silicone ( more like hot neon pink)case for my 6p. Love the case. Was it worth 39+tax definitely not!
I guess you could call it an impulse buy because I had just painted my nails that color and bought some MJ accessories to match lol
Still might return it. But its really nice if your on the fence.

How are you guys ripping your silicone cases?? Are you taking them on and off everyday or something????

I've only had my case off twice since launch day. It was the second time I took the case off that I slightly ripped it. It happened when i slide my finger along the inner lip on the side trying to ease the stress I felt it may be putting on the phone chassis as i was try to pry the phone form the case. Whola rip.

Decided to just keep the phone in the case thereafter, between worrying about ripping the case or bending the phone it was just causing too much stress. Besides I don't need to really look at those beautiful antenna lines all the time ;)

Haha ok because I was curious. I have the same case and I love it but I never and have no reason to take it off. Still researching to get another case with better protection as well.

Where did you guys get your silicone cases? Apple Store seems to be the only place around me (Southern California) that has them.

All the stores near me just got in new stock.

I am driving myself crazy with this. I really like the silicone, much more than the leather. I always like a minimalist case, which is why I am returning the UAG (the look didnt win me over). So the question becomes my NGP or the Silicone my wife just picked up.

I have the black leather case but I'm thinking about buying the red silicone as well. Is there somebody who uses the red one for a few weeks now and can say or - even better - show how it looks? I'm a bit afraid that its gets darker at the edges (and so forth) like the red leather case does.

I had a lot of silicone (TPU) cases for my old Galaxy S3, even original Samsung, but they all had dark 'fingerprints' or say darker marks after a few days of use. And...I do have really clean hands!! ;-)

I finally got so sick of the feel (sticky and slippery at the same time) of the silicone case after 3 weeks that I took it back to Apple Store and they exchanged it for me for a leather case. Much happier. Grippier and feels somewhat like leather. ;)

I had the red silicone until the edge tore, and I never saw any darkening, but after a week or so I noticed an oily build up on back. I washed it lightly with soapy water and it seemed fine.

I don't have the red but have the white. I imagine they are the same polymer material but just different colors. I was very concerned about discoloration from hand oils as I had other TPU cases in the past that would pick up staining and would not come clean by any method - ended up having to toss them.

I've had the white case for 3 weeks now with absolutely no signs of wear or staining. I clean it every few days with Apple Leather Care (not the electronics Apple) cause I like the soft feel from the leather cleaner. I know the case is not leather but this cleander works great for me.

I really, really like this case and my only concern was the probability of staining but I haven't seen that with this case. Happy, happy camper here.

got a silicon case, the amount of lint its picking up is ridiculous, does it get any better?

In my experience, as it picks up oils from your hands, it gets more slick and doesn't pick up much lint at all. Once you wash it, it's returned to its original grippiness. I haven't had any issues of staining or color changing, so I'll probably leave it alone and enjoy its low-lint state.

i have a best skins ever on my phone and, because the outer shell from my spigen broke and i don't ever expect to hear from them again, i am thinking of the apple leather or silicone case for it to protect from big drops. it sounds like the leather might be a better choice as it seems to be a bit looser. anyone tried the silicone with a skin on it? would like to save a few bucks and go with the silicone if it works with the skin.

Anyone have the exact length on this case? Unfortunately they don't list this on Apple's site. Thanks!

I also have best skins ever skin on my plus. I can't seem to get my apple silicone case on without fear of ruining my almost perfect installation of the BSE skin. I'm not sure what to do because on all my previous phones I had the BSE skin on and also used a case to protect from drops. I may go to the Apple Store and test a leather case on now that I have the skin on.

But to answer your question again, I tried to put the silicone on and noticed 2 edges of the skin hold it up from slipping on smoothly and I didn't want to force it.

i picked up a case Friday and found that it went over my phone pretty easily without apparently doing any harm to the BSE. i haven't tried to remove it yet but I didn't have any issues getting it on. love the case so far.

My wife has iPhone 6 with black apple leather, looks great.
I'm about to get 6+ and swithering between the leather and silicone.

Questions for anybody that may be able to answer:

Does the 'black' silicone look as good as the black leather? The black leather ties in perfectly to the colour of the grey iPhone, looks sleek. With the 'black' silicone being grey does it look as smart - from what I can see in the photos it doesn't.

My wife's apple leather case seems to have gotten a bit grippier over time (oils from hand etc I guess). Has anyone that has the silicone and leather found that the leather over time has reached about the same grippiness as the silicone?

From what I can see the black leather on the slate grey phone looks a lot nicer than the 'black' silicone, so it would come down to grip for me - if they end up being the same level of grip I'd go for leather again.

I got my silicone case on now that my BSE is totally dry. I have noticed the bottom two corners of the BSE was bunched up and I'm afraid it's going to be ruined when I take the silicone case off.

I personally like the look of the black silicone on the space gray. It also came down to the grip when I was deciding what case to go with. The leather just didn't have enough grip for me. I wasn't too worried about the look so much as the feel/grip and the silicone won.

Apple Silicone Case

I did notice an issue with my Apple silicone case today when I took it off my phone. This was the second time ever coming OFF the phone, and was used for 2 days so far (just got the phone/case on Saturday). The bottom two edges of the case seem to have rips/slits in the silicone, I will add a couple photos here. I feel like it happened while I was trying to pry the 2 corners out of the case...

That's the best pic I could get but both corners are like this, very small tears/slits/rips in the silicone. I can't imagine how it will be in a couple months after installing/removing it mulitple times

It seems this is a common problem with the silicone case. I had it happen to me as well:

To me the problem seems to be, that the case has a hard plastic core and it is only covered in silicone. This helps it to be pretty stiff (great!), but also more susceptible to the silicone coming off (not so great...). And all the ones i have seen that developed that flaw have it at the exact same spot.
