Yeah, but that still doesn't tell the whole story because 50% of Americans didn't vote.
I don't understand this logic. Why didn't they vote? Can somebody tell me the reason why they didn't. And if they didn't, then shouldn't they just shut up and accept the result? It's like you didn't participate in a competition, but then start screaming and shouting and burning things because the person you wanted to win, didn't win the competition. What rubbish!

Transgenders don't want a "Neutral" restroom. Same way gays were not satisfied with just a "Union" instead of marriage.(and rightfully so).

A public restroom's purpose is to take care of your business in an environment of their same sex peers, nothing more. Even though it's treated like a small social club sometimes. Sure transgenders might feel like they are the opposite of their born gender, but in the eyes of others, not so.

IMO, any transgender that's not post-op, really doesn't deserve to use the restroom of their choice. And many transgenders choose not to get a sex change operation, so if your not fully committed to having the sex organs of the opposite sex, then you shouldn't be using the restroom of the opposite sex. I know someone is going to say, a penis or vagina has nothing to do with gender, but it has everything to do with the way restrooms are designed and how others might feel in private like environment.

You make too much sense:) and I agree with the logic. Either way none of that bothers me as I am pretty tolerant to human shortcomings.

I used to work at a place in the late 60s with a female, who wanted to be a man. "He" used the men's bath room at the company, however the stalls.
But, every time "he" was visible men entering the toilets would just leave as they were not feeling comfortable.

So, whose right is more important? The person who wants to "feel" different and considers him/herself transgendered or the person who wants everything biologically perfect and doesn't feel comfortable?

Maybe we should all hold it in and only go at home!

So if you are born with a penis you are not a man? What planet are you on?
I know of one who isn't a man, but an orange. And that one got elected as US president.

Seriously, I am planet Earth. You seem to be on some black and white planet where everything is always the same. Life is more interesting than you could imagine.

For those that aren't aware, Sean Spicer is on the record saying that President Trump wants to put these decisions back in the hands of states instead of it being the federal government's decision. That's the fairest compromise if you ask me.

Fact check: Three million more individuals voted for Trump's opponent in the general election.

1) Trump campaigned knowing the laws of the United States dictated that popular count does not matter. It does not matter for a few very wise reasons. Read about our founding fathers concerns and a little history. There is nothing to say that a change in Trumps campaign to handle a popular vote would not have resulted in a Trump win anyway.

2) Several states don't count absentee ballots unless the total of the absentee ballots is likely to sway the election. History indicates that absentee ballots generally go in favor of Republicans, even in Democrat populated areas. So a number of Republican votes were not counted.

3) Democrats pay for and encourage non-citizens, dead people, and other false voting. Its the only way they can get their agenda passed. Why do you think that every Democrat supports voting without a picture ID. Clue, it has nothing to do with fairness.

I'm curious why you don't have that same opinion regarding the administration? Do you think Trump is an authority on where you "drop a deuce"? I see no evidence here that you care about that.
No he does not. I thought that's what he proved by rescinding the order. Obama showed that he had an authority where people "drop a deuce".

Agreed. Is there anything that a Trump will do that Apple won't speak out against?
theregister had an article about how Trump had announced he wanted to improve cyber security for government agencies. That would something entirely reasonable to do, and I couldn't see Apple giving anything but strong agreement to it. Well, we are waiting for that one...

One can make the argument, but apparently cannot produce actual evidence.

Because the justice department refused to investigate for 8 years. Wonder why?

Here it is, they also claim their findings will be released in the coming months. This should be no surprise, the democrats want illegals to be legalized citizens to grow their voter base. Democrats are infamously known for bussing people around to vote in various locations, voting in place of dead people, stuffing ballots, etc... Republicans tend to do less of this but nobody is saying they don't do it at all. There are videos of people going into voting locations and being allowed to vote as a fraudulent identity.

HOUSTON, TX. – November 27, 2016: True the Vote (TTV), the nation's leading voters’ rights and election integrity organization, today released a statement with respect to President-Elect Donald Trump’s claim that “millions” of individuals illegally voted in the 2016 Election.

“True the Vote absolutely supports President-elect Trump’s recent comment about the impact of illegal voting, as reflected in the national popular vote. We are still collecting data and will be for several months, but our intent is to publish a comprehensive study on the significant impact of illegal voting in all of its many forms and begin a national discussion on how voters, states, and the Trump Administration can best address this growing problem.”

True the Vote (TTV) is an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) voters’ rights organization, founded to inspire and equip voters for involvement at every stage of our electoral process. TTV empowers organizations and individuals across the nation to actively protect the rights of legitimate voters, regardless of their political party affiliation. And anyone that does not support this effort to identify and fix voter fraud is simply anti-american. Period. Non-citizens do NOT have the right to influence our laws, taxes, and politicians.

Why not just go to unisex bathrooms? Have some Ally McBeal-inspired dancing

In all seriousness, while I understand there have been pervs out there, I don't care if you're a boy or girl. As long as we just go to the bathroom, respect each other's privacy, who the **** cares?

Earth. If you want to keep to very simplistic definitions then no, even in this you are wrong...

Only 400...?? :D
LOL! LOL! LOL! (thrice, equally loud.)

It appears that the Shadow under-estimated the churn.

I already run out of pop-corn. This may become an all-time record thread. 800? 1,000?, until the steam disperses.

My view: It is what is it, because the three federal branches, and most state legislatures, are aligned red. It is effectively government without any checks and balances. LOL!

If you don't care about transgender rights then you don't deserve any rights.

Thankfully, the Constitution doesn't have the same litmus test you do for determining whether or not someone has rights.

I care about transgender people's Constitutional rights the same as I care about anyone's Constitutional rights. The Constitution says nothing about bathroom rights. Using whatever bathroom you want based on the gender you "feel" you are or the gender you "feel" you should have been is not a Constitutional right.

Why are Americans complaining about Donald Trump? They clearly wanted this guy as president; they picked him in the primaries and then elected him over Hillary in the end as well. Stop whining.

And don't give me the excuse that Hillary was no better... there was Bernie Sanders but it seems like Americans ignored him (he would have been great).
"Clearly". ???? Are you not paying attention??

Both sides have committed voter fraud, not just Democrats. Something I'd like to know is how easy is it to get a photo id, especially in poorer neighborhoods? Some Democrat friends of mine say that some states have closed down offices in poorer neighborhoods where people can get IDs, making the poor have to go farther. Not sure if true. I'd be up for voter IDs if those IDs were reasonably easy to get.

Should racial equality be left to the states to decide? If it is then my guess is every bigoted Republican southern state would have blacks thrown back into slavery. Human rights issues need to be protected at the Federal level, individual states have proven time and time again that they are incapable of protecting those most vulnarable to attack.
That's a ridiculous comparison. States rights has always been a cornerstone of our republic and it's slowly being chipped away at stupid things like this bathroom crap. Nobody is being burned at the stake, nobody is being put into slavery. Equating this to human rights is just idiotic and stupid. Just go into the damn bathroom, do your business and get the hell out. The sign on the door is just a sign. That's it! How hard is that?

Really, there are no "protections" per se. They were recommendations by the DoE. The DoE has no actual juris-my-diction over what happens in local schools, at least when it comes to bathroom-level issues.

It's very easy to say things like you did when you come from white heterosexual privilege (assuming you are). Try living under centuries of oppression and see how your opinion would quickly change. We have had the LGBT rights left to the whim of "the people" and you all have ****ed us over every single chance you could. Its nice to have the privilege of not having your rights so easily taken away by the swing of a pen isn't it? Southern states will screw us over and we will have to reach into our own pockets to hire lawyers to defend ourselves. Let me ask you - should disability rights be left to the states to decide? Should black rights be left to the states to decide?
I'm not white, I'm mixed race, and have faced my own share of problems that I'll not sideline the thread with. Also as a female I live all my life with the fear of being targeted for sexual assault and sexism overall and fear the same for transgendered females as well, by the way. That's why I'm not against sharing the ladies room with a transgendered lady. I'm just wishing and hoping for a way to do so in a way that will diminish both our vulnerability to predators. Alas, that "easy way" won't be feasible in every situation.

Anyway...

It's BECAUSE I'm worried that the rights you seek will be overturned with the stroke of a pen, that I don't want to rely on something as flimsy as an executive order to decide these matters.

The black rights you reference have been fought for state by state, over GENERATIONS, to gain the backing and critical mass they needed to become secured in a permanent and enduring basis in our laws up to the federal level. And they are still being firmed up, with much progress left to accomplish. Same as with the rights of the disabled.

That is how our system has worked and how it was designed to work. Our country at its founding was recognized to NOT be one homogeneous population but a coming together of colonies that were diverse in origin and character. Some started as colonies of Catholics fleeing oppression. Or as Protestants doing the same. Some started as commercial ventures.

The system was also designed to let people freely enter and leave the communities that best matched their values and lifestyle choices.

The system was also supposed to be a mixed of populist and elite ideals. Hence the popular vote and the electoral voting system. And it was supposed to take its direction from the people. The chief executive was not meant to dictate to the people. We speak through our elected representatives.

The reason the system seems so effed up is we gave our corporations the rights of people. It has now become "of the lobbysists, by the lobbyists and for the corporations" more than the man or woman on the street, unfortunately.

That's why I really do not like a person conflating their identity with that of a corporation. The corporation has vast wealth and influence at its beck and call. That's all well and good when the corporation has humanitarian values. But what about Nestle? The head of Nestle has embroiled himself and Nestle in a lot of controversy over who has rights to water. What about Monsanto, who routinely tries to trounce the rights of people to be free of GMO garbage in their diets.

Like it or not, the kind of change you seek is a process and takes generations to accomplish. The millennial generation is good at fast tracking change and future generations will be as well, but change is always going to be a messy time consuming business when it involves human beings who are free and not under mind control.

I don't know how old you are but I'm 50 and see the progress LGBT rights have made in my lifetime. It's particularly impressive when you consider how small a percentage of the entire population of the country the LGBT community comprises.

Meanwhile LGBT have been effective at establishing communities, even entire cities supportive to their needs. I should know because I lived in one for many years. It is horrible that people might feel compelled to leave their hometowns to find a compatible environment, but people of all diverse kinds have been doing so since there has been a country. Others choose to fight for change and a place in their community, knowing it will be a hard struggle, but worth it.

If you want the Feds to take power to quickly and cleanly confer rights upon you, fine, but don't be surprised when they take that power and do something you don't agree with. Something horrific.

It's far better to have all of us rise up through our legislators and our courts to ASSERT our human rights. Not beg, bug or bully one President, who may or may not be mentally healthy, to do so for us. And better to do so as people, not corporations. We need to take our personhood back from companies.

Trump simply made this a state's right issue. As it should be. Nothing was banned, nothing was restricted, nothing was threatened or taken away or given. Simply, if CA wants to make this a law then so be it, if TX does not want to, so be it. Let the state speak for themselves on where people can urinate. The Feds have greater issues to tackle.

Build great products. Shut up. Stay out of it. This goes for all causes, liberal or conservative. As a corporation, there is no reason to alienate potential buyers on either side of the aisle.

Alienate all you want, Apple. Stupid is stupid. There's politics, and there is Right. Apple has the cash reserves to be Right.
