Yeah, it is getting old to see that damn thing every time I want to do anything at the Apple site...I've started using the French site, which features :apple:tv instead. At least I COULD buy that if I wanted to.

I agree. A tease is a tease as long as you think you may get some sooner or later.... I just sit here thinking, "we'll won't be seeing that in the UK anytime soon." I want one, but I will need a new phone before then, and that will come with a whole new 18 month tie in.

So it may be an even longer wait for me...

However (comma) now the weird brain numbing effects of SJ talking to us is starting to wear off, people are asking "Where was leopard? Where were the glimpses of new macbooks, pros, displays...."

We all wanted a phone, but not at the expense of all the other goodies we love and that Apple allow us to have.

What else can the rest of the world look forward to? Lets face it, CES was p*ss poor.:(

Can't wait. I need me a shiny new Mac Pro, and I need it A.S.A.P. I was hoping it would be announced in January, but maybe this will be it. I wonder if they'll launch the much rumoured Blu-Ray drive with it too...

If it's got Blu-Ray in it, with Sony hogging all the diodes, we may be in for a wait!

Just want to know that my £1500 won't be out of date within 2 days!

Out on a limb...

Apple will preview OSXI

Yep, it will be OSXI. New GUI. New Finder. And other stuff.

Why? To (belatedly now it seems) steal Vista's thunder. Well, thunder is not the right word -- I think pffewt is more descriptive (you know, the sound a ballon makes when you blow it up and let it go)

Anyway, OSXI

Heh, like when Apple renamed Mac OS 8.5 to Mac OS 9...:)

forget blu-ray...sony can take that crap back.

i hate this war between HDDVD and blu-ray...just combine the two.

the PS3 has blu ray which jacked the cost up like $250. i don't want apple doing that to their notebooks.

Damn.. I'll be mad if they release a new MBP...

Hopefully they won't release a new MBP, cause my C2Ds being FedEx'ed as we speak...

Speaking of that, what's the return policy on refurbished items?

And while we're at it: is it true that you can get AppleCare anytime within the first 12 months? Never bothered getting it before, but hearing about all these issues with the screen and all, I figured maybe I'll dig deep in my pockets and be on the safe side this time.

I'm thinking Leopard will be available for purchase on the 1st of Feb. and copies will be shipped out three weeks later.

Totally incorrect. Leopard hasn't even hit Gold Master let alone been sent to manufacturing - these are things we all will know about when they happen.

With the paucity of developer seeds and the lack of any further preview of the technology I would say we'll see a release date announced 2 weeks before the day Leopard ships and I think Leopard will ship in mid-April.

But certainly not Feb 1st - that's just crazy talk.

It's not something we would know about if it was to be kept a secret. Kinda like those top-secret features that Jobs has been hiding from the Microsoft boys.

Trust me mate, we'll know about it when it happens.

Leopard is not ready yet, it's not. There have been just a handful of developer seeds and they still have a number of bugs and issues - it's easily a few months away especially if there are some features we haven't seen.

There is no event on Feb 1st - the invitations would've gone out last week and been confirmed by proper media outlets. No such thing has happened.

Leopard's shipping date is not going to be announced this month and there's nothing to suggest otherwise.

can't wait till they release leopard!! i need to update my 1.42ghz mini with a macbook, but i may as well wait for leopard to be released so i get it for free
its so gonna kik vista's ass

Maybe Steve will give a keynote on the latest $1.99 802.11n enabled patch. My Airport Expreme is scheduled to ship on the 28th of February, the day does look to be correct.

You do know that the patch is now free, don't you? I already downloaded it.

Of course, if you have AirPort Extreme, you don't need to download it anyway, it is included in the package.

As for the event, I expect that some sort of Apple event is likely in February, but I certainly don't expect to see Leopard at that time, although the "top secret" features may be revealed.

When did that happen............ people made such a huge deal about the $1.99 fee, but I didn't hear they went ahead and made it free. Did they finally decide it wasn't necessary after all?
