Just got "preparing for shipment"!

----------

Sorry dude...it was a great friendship while it lasted.

Actually, it seems our friendship will continue...

Preparing for shipment= Shipping Info being transmitted to UPS, FEDEX etc with pickup on sunday night or Monday. Arrival should be Wednesday or Thursday depending on carrier:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Why is everyone making a big deal about this? This doesn't bump up your expected delivery date. Its still September 30th - October 2nd for most everyone.

Except that some people are saying that it has moved up their expected delivery dates.

----------

If you track it, can you tell what service? Ground or International Service from China?

Congratulations!

It would take a long time for a UPS truck to cross the Pacific Ocean. :D

Mine has also changed to 'Preparing for Shipment' in the past hour...and i ordered LATE, at 1:30am PDT/4:30am EST. 16GB Space Gray on ATT...i have expedited shipping, with delivery on 9/27-10/1. Pretty sure it'll get here by Friday at the latest though!!! :)

Wall man that's really late. I ordered t 3:18 18 minutes after the site went live.

I can't wait for mine!!! I completed my order at 2:01am (CST) and got my Confirmation email at 2:02am (CST).. I was literally shaking during the entire order process to be as quick as possible before the orders became 7-10 day wait ._.

Available to ship in 1-3 business days and will be delivered by September 27-October 1 but as with my other previous purchases with Apple. It normally likes to surprise me 2 or 3 days earlier at my house :D

Who else can't stop watching YouTube Videos of iPhone 5S camera quality, 120fps video, TouchID, drop tests, etc? :p

In my previous iPhone experience if it says "preparing for shipment" it has already shipped.

Does anyone remember how to track by reference at ups or fedex?

This is very possible. I'm still leaning towards most of these phones coming from China, but we shall soon find out!

----------

Has anyone tried tracking by reference at Fedex yet? I just tried and couldn't find anything.

My 64 GB Space ATT is preparing for shipment. I ordered in the first 10 minutes.

Well since it JUST changed to preparing for shipment. I would say it's safe to assume we have to wait 24 hours for our reference to be searchable in the UPS or FEDEX system

Just in case anyone was wondering about the status of their shipment. If you have a status that says, "Preparing for Shipment," it most likely has shipped via UPS. In order to find out for sure:

-Go to UPS.com
-Track by Reference
-Type in your phone number, Country and zip code

It will pull up your tracking number and package. Here, it will tell you that it will delivered on the 21st by the end of the day. However, you might also notice that shipment progress hasn't been updated and there is a reason for this. UPS has a message specifically for the iPhone 5, which I pasted below.

Important information for iPhone Customers
Apple has required that UPS deliver iPhone shipments to customers on and not before Friday, September 21, 2012. iPhone’s are scheduled for Friday, September 21 2012 and have a delivery commitment of the end of day.

Why isn't my package moving? The packages are being staged in key locations and moved on a coordinated schedule for delivery on the shipper's planned release date, Friday, September 21, 2012.

Anyways, I just wanted to post this for anyone who was wondering about the status.

That was from LAST YEAR

Does anyone remember how to track by reference at ups or fedex?

reference = order phone number which for me is my home number not my mobile (no dashes, no 1, at least for me).

Could this mean it is being shipped! :D what is going on over here!?
